RE: HP LaserJet 1018 Printer. £39.99

Picked one of these up lunchtime today. Installed no probs, and printing seems quick with nice `n` sharp text definition. Very pleased so far!

Thanks to the OP! :)

RE: Recommend an ISP?

I`d second Entanet.

Recently moved house and plumped for ADSL24, one of Entanet`s resellers, and am very happy so far. I`m on their Home30 package, which is 30GB limit during peak hours, and 300GB limit during off-peak (that`s 22:00 - 08:00 IIRC), for £20/month. Very useful for those big "scheduled downloads", if you catch my drift. On the downside the activation fee is BT `full-whack`, i.e £52, but OTOH contract length is only one month. This suited me down to the ground ;)

Also, ADSL24`s customer support is meant to be very good (UK-based, knowledgeable IT guys, etc), although I`ve had no reason to make use of them yet.

Good luck, whatever your choice!

RE: 32" LCD TV + Xbox 360 bundle deal - £499 @ Misco.co.uk

I thought so too! No idea if it`s a misprice or anything, just thought I`d pass it on.

Like I said though, I have the TV and it`s a pretty good set...nice SD picture, a bit skimpy on the connections front, no integrated digital tuner, good inbuilt sound/speakers. What Hifi gave it a good review (four stars IIRC) a few months back.

Would be v-e-r-r-r-y interested to see if Misco actually honour this deal.

32" LCD TV + Xbox 360 bundle deal - £499 @ Misco.co.uk

Hi all,

Not sure about the availability of this bundle (reading as `Usually 5 days` on the Misco site), but it looks cracking value to me. Posting this because I`m just a bit gutted. I ordered the exact same TV set from Misco about 3 months ago for the princely sum of £475 delivered...only to find that if I`d waited til now, I could have got it with an XBox 360 for only £25 more!

As for the TV itself, I`m very happy with mine :) ...although be warned, the styling is decidedly retro, and not to everyones taste. Performance is great, although I`ve not given it a proper workout from a full HD source yet. Also, AFAIK it`s not wall mountable, which I know is a deal breaker for some prospective LCD purchasers.

Anyhoo, the link is below...

FYI too, PayPal account holders can register with Rewards Online to get 3% cashback into their PayPal accounts for Misco purchases. I did this, and although it took more-or-less 90 days to be processed, it saved another £12 or so on the original price.

Cheers

RE: Sony Ericsson W300i for £69 - instore at Asda

Those bits of `Super-Robbie` trim are just stickers in the box.

It`s basically a bog standard black/grey with the silvery plastic trim...you can (and should IMHO) just bung the stickers in the bin.

RE: Sony Ericsson W300i for £69 - instore at Asda

Just a quick update. Went shopping at Asda last night and noticed the T-Mobile PAYG W300i is now down to £62. They still had a few handsets left in the display case.

BTW after a month`s use, I`m very happy with my W300i. It`s a cracking little phone/walkman.

`The Natural World` in administration - Bargains to be had instore...

The Mrs texted me in work this afternoon to say that the Natural World shop in the local shopping mall (Castle Mall in Norwich) was selling everything at 50% off, as they`ve gone into administration/receivership. The guys working there had no idea how much longer they`d still be trading for...

...anyway, picked up a cracking telescope (Celestron 130 SLT reflector, motorised `GoTo` number) for half price. That`s £160 for a lovely bit of kit. Very pleased :D

Sony Ericsson W300i for £69 - instore at Asda

Hi all,

Picked one of these up at my local Asda last night. It`s on T-Mobile PAYG, and this is the cheapest I`ve seen this Walkman model. I`m liking it so far after a day`s tinkering with it.

Only downside is that it`s the Robbie Williams "special edition" :( . Thankfully, there`s nothing to give this away appearance-wise, and it`s easy enough to change the default Themes, ringtones etc.

Anyhoo, just thought I`d share.

Christopher Guest Collection DVD boxset - £12 @ Amazon

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Got some great bargains from many posts on here (me Kenwood Brewmaster`s still pumping out some great coffee!), so thought it was high time I registered and `put something back`.

Anyhoo, like the post says, the Christopher Guest collection DVD box is only £11.97 at Amazon UK right now...a good £15 or so cheaper than I`ve been able to find it elsewhere. Link here

Enjoy!
