Can anyone help with a car charger for this device?
I.e. recommend one and a supplier, etc.
Also, are there any similar deals about for a similar 40Gb or larger MP3 player?
Want to use in car via transmitter unit connected to the in car radio!

Sorry, but this may help others who bought this bargain.
Use mine costantly at home with PC Speakers (when doing DIY) and is excellent!
Not a problem in approx. a year. Now full up with mainly 128Kbs encoded .wma files.
Unbelievable amount of CD`s on it! :D

What does the power supply say regarding it`s output power Voltages\Amps\polarity of the connnector?

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

This should do it. The Ventura can be charged through the USB port. You could do this in your car with something like a Hama USB Charger Adaptor (Car 12v Cigar Lighter to USB) £5.49 + £3.95 delivery 7dayshop here. N.B. you plug it into your cigarette lighter and attach your normal USB lead to the other end.

Or you could get an inverter and use your regular charger. e.g. this inverter for £14.49 + del. This one is fairly low powered but looks compact in the picture. Maplins do a much more powerful one IIRC 150W which is sometimes on offer but it`s much bulkier.

Thanks for the help.
Here are the specs from the back:

External dc power supply 5.0v
Battery: Lithium-ion 3.7v

Sorry, but it is a Venturer (not Ventura) :B

And yes it does charge via USB port via PC, so should work by connecting via USB port.

Thanks again.

Try this link for a USB charger its 47p plus postage.

Just google "USB car charger" for best price, you just plug in the large USB into the car charger.

Personally I would not use a hard-drive player in the car via a radio transmitter they are shat to say the least, you can get cheap ones at computer shows from £3 upwards most are limited to a few channels and you get so much hiss and the quality is poor. I have since bought a cheap car MP3 player (ALDI £50) with SD card capacity and play my MP3 tracks this way, believe me I have explored the options your considering and they ain`t worth the hassle.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help again guys.
Unfortuneatly, I have a dilemma whereas the car is a single slot built in unit and I am not able to fit a new head unit easily. (it is an X Type Jag). I had one with a 6 CD Autochanger so that was good enough to give some variety in the music whilst on longer journeys. Now the newer car will have no autochanger, it has a single slot CD.
I have been quoted £299.00 for an Ipod connetion :o or £500.00 for the Autochanger option.

Unless someone can advise me how to change the standard head unit for a new MP3/WMA CD head unit with an Ipod connection I am leaning towards the 40Gb hard disc MP3 player that I already have or new PVR connected via jack plug to the transmitter via radio option.

My son has a 4Gb Ipod Nano, which I have seconded and loaded with "dads" music.
So I could use this, but it is not really mine :( .

I have ordered the PVR from Goodmans, above, so I can try it out. If OK I could use it either in the car or at home as would mainly be for Music and not films. The Venturer would then be used either in the car or at home depending which one is best where, if you get my drift.

Any help on fitting a hnew head unit to an X Type would be well received.

Thanks again.
