Incredible deal on a programmable learning remote control at Aldi this week at just £4.99, try finding a 8 in 1 Universal programmable remote control that also has a learning function to replicate functions from existing remotes as well for cheaper anywhere else!

Just bought one, to top it all it has a blue lcd backlit display screen at the top which you can adjust the contrast as well as in built clock, backlight adjustment, macro functions, display also clearly shows which device you currently have selected...very handy.

Surprised actually these haven`t gone like hot cakes, I bought one last year for the same price, but the build quality is nowhere near as good as this years model, plus it didnt have the screen display like it does this year at all, so the old one is going in the bin! Got one this evening from my local Aldi and there were about 20 left..offer started yesterday...if you are in need of one of these to combine the functions of all your remote controls it comes highly recommended, and a good ergonomic design, available in black or silver...my Aldi had few silver left.

And before you ask no i don`t work for Aldi!

Just to echo what the op has said , this is a pretty good remote for the money.
I meant to post about this when I got it yesterday , but I have only just got around to trying it out. So far , it works my Sony TV and Philips VCR (remember them ;) ) just fine.
Haven`t tried it on the DVD(s) yet. It works my Sky Digital , but with some issues , being the left / right arrows don`t seem to work and the `Select` is not where you would naturally expect it to be. I`ve tried to overcome this with the learning function , but without success so far. Still , as it will be used mainly by the other half , it won`t be too much of a problem (so long as she can find UK Style and QVC , she`ll be happy :D )

I picked up one of these for a fiver today.

After using the Tevion MD 41666 learning remote for the past 6 months or so and finding it a very capable bit of kit albeit very badly laid out I spotted this new one in Aldi (3910 model).

Its much more ergonomically designed than the old 41666 and it has a better LCD display as well as the same learning functions.

Only problem is that it wont control my Sky+ box which is what I`ve purchased it for. I`ve tried all the codes (I`m about to go and try some more) but more alarmingly it wont learn from the old remote.

I`ve gone through all the steps - it comes up with "succesful" on each button programming and will try and transmit something to the Sky+ box but nothing happens on the box itself.

I`ve also tried programming it from the old 41666 remote which operates the Sky+ box perfectly but with the same result - programming appears to be fine but when you try and use it nothing happens.

Very strange !!!!! I`ve sent over an Email to Medion tech support to see if they have any ideas - they have been brilliant in the past with getting stuff sorted for me.

If all else fails I`ll use it on the kiddies TV which is missing a remote.

Has anyone found any of these in the NE or Yorkshire? I`m struggling to get hold of one. :(

It is unlikely you will get one anywhere now.

The Aldi specials usually sell out within a few days of going on sale, and these remotes are nearly 2 weeks old now.

I to bought a couple of these little bad boys .... can`t fault them for the money , even has a learning/programming capability ... works all my stuff ! :D

Has anyone figured out how to get the Sky `i` button, the program information button, to work with this remote. I have tried all the codes for Sky and the 154 is almost perfect (it has all the buttons) except for the `i` button and it refuses to learn this from my Sky remote?
