Yes its the last generation but the A85 always had great reviews and at £99 its an absolute steal! 4MP and 3X zoom, uses NIMHs and CF card which are dead cheap these days for a 1GB card. Remember good lens is more important than pixel count.

I bought this camera about 9 months ago and I rate it very highly. It is one of the few cameras in this price range that allow you to go fully automatic, fully manual, or anywhere in between. It has a great close macro function also. Ideal for beginners to advanced non-SLR users, unless you want to pay silly money and/or want prints greater than A4. The AA batteries last absolutely ages and there is minimal shutter lag, especially on `sport` mode. I can`t recommend it highly enough.

Just wish I`d snapped it up at this price. I bought it from Jessops who price matched the previous Argos sale price, but I paid much more than £99. Get it while you can!

Agree absolutely on both counts. Even the fact that it is a bit chunkier than the current models plays in its favour, as it will be that much easier to hold steady.

I`d buy one if we didn`t already have six digicams (seven if you include the one in the phone)...

And if it wasn`t out of stock! :-(

My local store has it down as being delivered at the end of the week, have you tried all your local stores?

Says it`s in stock at my local branches (Leek and Hanley).I`ve reserved one for Wednesday.

Thats crap news about it going back up to £149! Hmmm may have only been a Bank Holiday special then but it was £99 yesterday when I posted yesterday. Shucks, hope some of you got it in time.

Good spot RayBan, got one on ring and reserve last night for pick up today :)

Now found out that price has gone back up :(

Another one out the window then (at least I should get my 70 or so 49p TVs from homebase ;) ).

Aye.Got there this morning after reserving to find it at £149.Very annoying......seems to be a new thing to have almost unobtainable special offers.It won`t be long before high street shops have offers that start at 5.30p.m and end the following morning at 8.59 to give customers actaully no chance of getting the deal.
