Do you know where they are based Phil?

For £34.00 it is cheaper than most other places. There P+P costs are a bit on the high side but if you can pick them up locally, it could be worth a flutter.

I dunno about affiliation, Ive been buying off these guys for years they do the Bowlers computer fair at Manchester everyweek thats where i found them, I think it a bargain price for a Pioneer writer, and this is a Bargain bucket forum, I was only trying to help, anyway they are based in Oldham, details will be on the site somewhere.

Just to say- I`ve bought from them at Bowlers and they are a decent retailer- very good with a problem I had with something I bought of them that developed a fault.

Only problem with OEM`s is that you cant update the firmware, can be a nightmare in 6 months time to find discs that will write to, as when discs change there dyes it may not be compatible with the DVD writer and you can`t change the firmware to get them working. I found out this the hard way with my 108, i looked it up on the net, very annoying!!!!

I just updated my 107 to the latest version of firmware to allow me to write to 800MB cds and not only will it not recognise the extra capacity but it will no longer burn to a 700MB cd without freezing half way through :(
