if anyone is strugglin to get one, i have just been in the Scarboro store and they have 13 on the shelf, the model is MICO espejo R311. :)
but, logic tells me that if these have been on for a while and they still have that many left, then they can`t be such a good buy :/
Good luck anyway :)

I bought one of these babies on Saturday. For those who have them, 2 simple questions:-

1. I have tried a Memorex +RW and this has worked fine. But last night I tried two Philips +R discs and both recorded for 10 secs then stopped and I got the `DISC ERR` message? Do I have to format the discs in any way?

2. How do I copy my VHS tapes to the DVD recorder? I assume that the bottom scart that comes from my Sky+ box into the R311, gets taken out of the Sky+ box and into the VHS input?

Any help to a DVD Recorder virgin would be very much appreciated! ;)

Theres a very long running thread on this forum covering all the points mentioned & a few others that you havent.

Before you start to think that you have bought a trouble prone unit.

DONT!

Its been padded out by repeats of the same questions posted by new owners who couldnt be bothered to read the thread from the start. ;)

If Mac users are "more intelligent than the average computer user," why do they need an operating system designed for complete idiots?

You`re right I haven`t got the time to trawl through nearly 50pages of threads for two little answers that might take somebody 30secs to answer. If somebody helps, great, if not I will search myself.

At what point did I say that I had bought a troublesome unit?

Wasnt my intent to state that you had, I have owned one for over the last year quite happily, was more the point of dispelling any sudden fears that may have arisen at first sight of the size of the thread. ;)

Best ones I have found to work on mine, in no particular order, Traxdata(+RW +R), Maxell (+R) JVC(+R) Verbatim (+R\+RW) & PC Lines (+RW).

Copying is exactly like VCR to VCR via SCART leads only using the Mico instead, anything thats got copy protection on it will not copy & will need a lead (Sonel) to strip out the protection. :)
