I think the £9.99 you have seen is on the T-Mobile network. The direct link is e2Save Nokia on BT Mobile. But beware. BT Mobile customer service is appalling. The T610 is still also available at £4.99.

You will need to go through the Rpoints site if you want your £12.50 worth of points though.

This is really interesting me, but the thing I don`t really like the look of is that the discounted line rental is by what they call `redemption`-They say send your 6th and 12th monthly bill and they will debit your credit card with the `appropriate amount`..

Excuse me for being cynical, but having gone through all kinds of cr*p with Genie Mobile a few years ago (Who, despite managing to ignore 12 months of letters and phone calls that their service didn`t work, still managed to put a black mark on my credit history!!) I am a bit worried about this. I know it`s easy to work out the `appropriate amount` (£19.99 x 12 minus £4.99 x 12 = £180, right?) but it doesn`t actually state that anywhere. The other thing is-what happns if e2save go t*ts up in the first 5 months? I assume I would have to honour the contract as it`s a BT contract, not an e2save one.

I`ve never even heard of this outfit before...how reliable are they (e2save, not BT)... anyone had bad dealings with them?? How do yoou claim the "12.50 back from registering with R points??

E2save are well established, I havent used them but Im on a Mobile Forum and know lots of others who do use them. The BT offer for the T610 £4.99 line rental was also available at the Carphone Warehouse recently.BT and Genie(now called O2 Online) are completely separate, O2 demerged from them a few years ago. O2 Online(Genie) are based online are arent well known for great cust sercie. BT Mobile use TMobile as their network. Regarding the rebate this is how all these offers work, you pay the line rental and have to claim it back.

To fill in a few more blanks

e2save are actually part of the well respected Carphone Warehouse Group.

I think Carphone Warehouse has plans to reduce its online presence as it is affecting sales (and the prices they can charge) at their retail shops, e2save is a relatively new venture for them which I think they have plans to one day replace Carphone Warehouses online presence.

The cashback they pay on this offer is as you rightly say awarded at months 6 and 12 (you have to send e2save copies of your BT Mobile bill at these time) you than get paid £90 on each occasion, this money is paid straight to your credit or debit account.

Rpoints is primarily a cashback site, it rewards people shopping through its links by giving them cashback, the amount being dependant on where you shop, I believe they currently have links to about 300 online retailers where you can earn this cashback.

For example you get 3% at Amazon, 2.5% at sendit and choices direct and of course £12.50 at e2save. This cashback is paid into your account at rpoints and once you have cleared at least £10 you can withdraw it.

Rpoints are able to pay this money because of something known as affiliate commission. Basically when a website sends a retailer a customer, frequently there is an affiliate agreement between the two websites and if the visitor goes on to purchase something at the visited site, then the original website gets paid a percentage of the sale as a commission. The difference at rpoints is that it shares this commission with its members on a 50/50 basis, so as an example, sendit will pay them 5% and rpoints will give half of this to you as a cashback.

Thanks for that..order now placed-came along just at the right time as my 6 year old Philips Ph301 (That everyone laughs at but suits my fat fingers and light use very well!!) has developed a battery problem.

I`ve never really looked at contract phones before. It says I get 150 `any network-any time` minutes` - I take it that means what it says..I can ring any other number (Obnviously not `perv lines`-I mean other mobiles and land lines) and the first 150 minutes every month are free, as are the first 50 text messages?

Finally.. does this go onto my R points account automatically, or do I have to advise them (I clicked on the `shopping` link on the RPoints site and went to the e2save site from there)

Emily Howard. Your 150 minutes are cross network or to land lines. Not included are premium rate, freephone, 0870 and 0845 numbers.

Your RPoints will be updated automatically if you went through the link. You should be able to see them pending after Monday (I think they are updated weekly).

To get the best out of the offer you need to give notice cancel your contract before your 12 months is up (lookup whatever the notice period is) and look for another similar offer. There is no need to keep antiquated phones!

Just noticed they have also started doing the Sony Ericsson T610 once again on this tarriff.

What a con!!

E2Save won`t proceeed with my order.

I run my own small business from home, so our phone doubles up as a home.business phone.. I set it up as a business line because I wanted to appear in Yellow Pages. E2Save say they won`t accept a business line, yet in none of their `blurb` does it say this-just you require a BT line in your home.

I thought it was too good to be true.
