Canon PowerShot A80 £199

Canon PowerShot A80 £199 from Argos link. 4Mpix 3x zoom - not an exceptional spec but a mid-range quality camera at a low-end price.

Here`s a couple of reviews:
"The PowerShot A80`s "little brother" PowerShot A70 offered a rich set of features and excellent image quality at an attractive price. Following in its footsteps, the PowerShot A80 offers the same great features, though now with higher image quality from its 4.1-megapixel CCD. Other enhancements include a swiveling LCD monitor, broader AF point range, and two Custom exposure modes. The A80`s feature set accommodates both novice and experienced user levels alike, with a friendly interface that`s quick to grasp, and its image quality is first-rate. If you`re looking for a great "all around" digicam, the A80 certainly deserves serious consideration. Easily a "Dave`s Pick!" " click for full review

"The A80 is the flagship of Canon`s PowerShot A-series consumer digicam product line, it packs a four-megapixel imager, Vari-Angle LCD viewfinder, and PictBridge support into a rugged metal body along with a rich feature set familiar to users of its A60 and A70 siblings. In Automatic exposure mode, the A80 is a point-n-shoot simple enough for a beginner to use, yet it offers a range of creative exposure modes that the advanced user will appreciate. Thanks for the cross post to Pcs and Mobiles, you`ve just saved me 20 to 30 quid.
Unusual for Argos to be the cheapest.

Blast !!
I`m seriously tempted by this offer even though my venerable A20 is still a perfectly fine camera.
It`s also worth mentioning that if you buy the camera from Argos online you can order a 128 memory card ( worth £ 30.00 ) as a free extra.

Do 7dayshop source UK cameras?

Compactflash from www.crucial.com/UK I have found them reliable in the past.

7dayshop post from Guernsey so watch out for customs. Bought a uniross charger and 4 21oo batteries recently, they currently have a Hama one with 2300s. Delivery is about 10 days, notwithstanding a statements on the website to the contrary.

Got mine from 7dayshop about 3 weeks ago (paid £199). No problems with VAT, plus ordered 1 hour charger with 4 2100Mh batteries, 256Mb Viking CF card, CF card reader/writer and Hama case. All for £254. It is a superb camera!
