Grundig DVD Recorder for £180
As Dixons have the £20 voucher for the next few days, it could be worth a shot. It was the same price as Sainsbury`s Mico, but this may give it the edge.
RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for £180

TBH I fancied this one when I saw it advertised but decided against it. I fancy the Pioneer DVR-5100H-S. 80 Gig H/D (100 + hours capacity) DVD-R/DVD-RW. Only thing against this is the price of £640 (Empire Direct). Hopefully this will come down to the £450-£500 next year and possibly then I would get one. If the price does not drop by much then hopefully other makes of DVD Recorders with Hard drives will appear at a better price for the punter.
Choagy :)

Grundig seems to be a good bit of kit and it`s multi regional out of the box but the fan is extremely loud i got one for work a month ago and we`ve had no probs with it at all

RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for £180
I saw it Thursday in Bexleyheath branch (in stock) for £199. Nearly bought with £20 voucher. Be interested to see if they have upped the price now.
RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for £180
Don`t forgot Grundig no longer exist. They went bust earlier in year. Not sure if anybody bought them up though.
After sales may be a problem.
Grundig have not gone bust, they are in administration.
Makes no difference either way, as the Grundig models sold in DIxons are actually not made by Grundig anyway. Dixons have exclusive UK rights to Grundig-branded goods made by other companies, in this case Mustek.
The recorder will be covered by Mastercare, part of the Dixons group :)

RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for ?180
"The recorder will be covered by Mastercare.."
So that`s all right, then! :-)
Shame to see a well-respected name like Grundig being milked dry by Dixons Group, though. They used to make some really nice kit.
RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for ?180
Can`t remember. Does it have RGB input?
Don`t think so.
On the issue of DSG milking the Grundig name, it`s actually been that way since about 2000, when they issued the (very good) Grundig GDV210A DVD player.
Grundig do still make their own players in Llandudno, and very nice they are too - I`m pretty sure some of the upmarket department stores (House of Fraser or John Lewis maybe) still stock their self-made stuff :)
