The Beat Takeshi Trilogy at Play for £14.99, thats Violent Cop (1989), Boiling Point (1990), and Sonatine (1993). Not bad for three discs.

Whats the quality like tho?

I`m a bit wary about buying asian films on DVDs (apart from Hong Kong Legends of course), as the film quality tends to be very poor.

So I tend to get them on region 3, as the film and sound quality are excellent.

I think they are all non-anamorphic if that makes a difference.

Quite alot of sub-titles are missing on "violent cop" for some daft reason!?

"Give ya a £1 for it!?"

Picture quality isn`t too bad on all three IMO, subtitles fine

Boiling Point is takeshi kitano`s worst film though.

Sonatine and violent cop are very good.

I actually quite like Boiling Point. Its weird because everyone seems to agree Sonatine is the best of those three but I didn`t really like it. Violent Cop is quality though. Can anyone recommend Gonin? Thought the trailer looked great.
