RE: PayPal 10% Discount Code

This might be a stupid question but when do you use a paypal code. Is it when you get asked for an ebay coupon or is it somewhere else?

RE: Pre-Order - The Ultimate Matrix Collection (Ten Disc Set)

All,

Just to let you know that this set does NOT include an extended version of Reloaded, that was an initial guess which has proved to be incorrect, see here

RE: 50% off at BBC Shop

Yep, tried with audio casette of all the Pooh stories (14.99) but still no discount for Blackadder, I guess they`ve put a stop to some of the titles.....shame on them.

RE: 50% off at BBC Shop

No matter which way I try this I cannot get 50% off Complete Blackadder, it works with Band of Brothers and the Big dinosaur but not Blackadder which is the only one I want - how frustrating!!!

RE: WH Smiths Half Price Sale

If anyones interested, the WHSMiths in Woking has a lot of the Action boxed Set, a few of the two girlie ones and Auf Wiedersen Pet left, as of yesterday (5/1/04).

RE: 42` Plasma Screen for £85?

Wow a pink elephant! I bet you had to pay extra for delivery.....

RE: Blockbuster Sale 80% off!!!!

Justt been down again and they`ve added quite a lot more (they now have to whole stands worth). Picked-up Dark City for £5, Moniroty Rport and Spiderman for £8 each and Big Fat Greek Wedding for £10. Not bad prices at all, the chap behind the counter said that they are adding titles daily so it may be worth repeat visits.

RE: Blockbuster Sale 80% off!!!!

Just visited my local branch (Woking) and the sale has started Today. They have most of the stuff above (non Minority Report) plus spiderman for £7.98.

RE: nVidia GeForceFX 5200 128MB A-FX20 graphics card for £50

nVidia GeForceFX 5200 128MB A-FX20 graphics card for £50

I`m not sure if this is a bargain or not but I was looking for a new graphics card. Does anyone know if this is good or not?

RE: Ballistic 8.99, Heist 5.99 at CDWOW

The hong Kong one works out quite a bit cheaper........

RE: Films First Price Promo`s

An online special offer needs to be better than something you can get in the shops, so apart from lowering the overall prices, the `offers` should contain decent titles that most people are interested in (i.e. Spider-man, Minority Report). I liked the pre-Christmas `Game` idea of two recent titles for £25, which seemed decent for both parties. This idea could be taken further with 3 for £30 etc (but again good recent titles), this is a good way to sell more stock and give the customers what they want at a good price.

Nowaday`s so many people are driven by how much a title costs, why not make it easier by introducing a search by `Price Range`. All retailers have search by title, actor etc, but why not a couple of price ranges, i.e. £3 - £5, £5 - £8, £8 - £12.

RE: Band Of Brothers for £15

In-case anyone is interested, I just tried XD3436 which I found to be Cld Feet for £30, dont know if it`s DVD or VHS though.

RE: Hong Kong Legends Scorpion King not ROCK for £8.00 @ DVD Street

Is that £2 voucher specific to you or is it a general one that anyone can use? I say this as I would like to buy two titles myself and £2 off sounds good to me.

Coolashop - are they any good

I`m looking to buy `The Prodigal Son` (Universe version) and saw it at coolashop.com on DVD for £5.91 delivered. I know they are Hong Kong based which would normally put me off.

Has anyone used them and are they any good?

RE: Hong Kong Legends Scorpion King not ROCK for £8.00 @ DVD Street

Have you seen that splash have lots of Medusa titles (HKL) starting from 5.99 (rather amusingly its mixed in with a load of soft porn).....This includes good titles like Iron Monkey, Magnificent Butcher, Ninja in a Dragons Den and the Once upon a time in China`s.......

http://www.splashdvd.com/splash/special.cfm?special_offer_id=127

RE: Hong Kong Legends Scorpion King not ROCK for £8.00 @ DVD Street

They`ve also got `The Prodigal Son` for the same price!!! so both for £17 delivered is excellent.

RE: What`s the best trilogy?

My two-penneth:-

1.Star Wars Trilogy (the first three films only) - mainly as I can sit down and watch them numerous times and not be bored.

2.Indies - slightly dodgy third film but still watchable.

3.Die Hards - the first film is up there with the best of them, the next two are just re-treads but again still watchable.

4.Aliens (first three only) - great one, superb two and when you bored three is Okay.

5.Lethal Weapon - one`s okay, two is great (excellent Patsy Kensit nipples) and the third is not too bad.

6.Omen - is great for one and two - the third just looses it big time.

7.Jaws - cant remember if theres a fourth or not, however one is brilliant and two is livable and I enjoyed three when I saw it in 3D.

8.Robocop - one is cool, two has a great big bad robot and three is embarrassing.

9.Hellraisers (first three only) and Evil Deads - both had great number twos......

10.Batman (first three only) - one is great, two and three are pants.

11.Godfather - It`s just me I`m sure but every time I try and watch these films I fall asleep, they may be good but I just find them boring.

12.Austin Powers - again I really like the second one but the other two are still not too bad.

13.Back to the future is a bit crap allround if you ask me but deserves a mention as the ride at Universal Studios is good.

14.From dusk til Dawn - only the first one is any good and if you`ve seen the other two you should be ashamed of yourself.

15. Iron Monkey - Just a wish really that they would make another two.....

Haven`t seen any of the ring yet - is it really as good as people say?

When the rest of LOTR and Matrix are out I`m sure opinions will all change.

Cheers,

Dan

IRON MONKEY - is there anything else like it

All,

I have recently watched quite a few Kung-Fu films and found Iron Monkey to be excellent, others like The Black Sheep Affair have been crap. Does anyone know of any films similar to Iron Monkey in quality. Im thinking of Once Upon a time in China.....any thoughts would be most welcome.

Cheers,

Dan.

RE: STAR WARS: EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES

pcmg,

Yes you can just perform searches for vouchers (just like any normal search), I have found this site http://www.bepaidtosurfthe.net/amazon.html to be very useful. Before I buy from a major store that excepts vouchers I will always search for a voucher, i.e. Tesco evoucher or Tesco ecoupon. I have saved myself a few quid over the years.

Cheers,

Dan.

I would also like to point out that I do buy from CD WOW quite a lot but I dont find them the best for everything and although CD WOW are an English company they still ship you the DVD`s from abroad and they still go through customs.

RE: STAR WARS: EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES

CD-WOW is most definitely not the best retailer out there. All you have to do is hunt around to get much cheaper bargains. I use http://www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk/ to find the cheapest version of whichever region I require.

For example:
I did find a complete bargain a couple of weeks back with amazon.ca (the canadian amazon), where you could buy LOTR extended and AOTC for 72 canadian dollars. Thats the two best versions of the two best DVD`s you can get. I then did a seach for amazon vouchers and found on one site codes to get 5 dollars of for every 35 dollars spent. I used two vouchers when purchasing the discs and got both films for 68 canadian dollars, and yes that included delivery. I took the cheap delivery option which was supposed to take 4 -6 weeks delivery but I got them within two days of their release date.

To summarise, I got LOTR Extended and AOTC for 68 canadian dollar`s within two days of release date......you may not think this is special but when you work out the 68 canadian dollars is the equivalent of £27!!!. This basically works out that I got AOTC for nothing.

The moral is, use all available means to find the cheapest price, use the comparison sites, search for vouchers and dont be afraid to buy from abroad.

Cheers,

Dan.
