Ramtec (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 29th June 2002, 00:13

How about a cool looking Silver HIFI 5 speaker multi region (using remote hack) DVD system... IF so read on

LG DV F55
Clock radio
Radio Tuner
2 Cassette deck
3 tray CD/DVD/MP3/CDR/CDRW
5 Speakers c,l,r,rl,rr
5.1 dolby digital decoder

Going at Safeway for £179.99 what a steal... I bought it for £249.99, but managed to get my £70 back after the price was reduced.

There`s more

Add a Aiwa TS-W37 powered subwoofer from richersounds.co.uk

£35.95 might be £39.95 (I bought mine web special)

Theres even more....

Add a LG CE20J3GX 20in mono TV from Dixons web offer £99.99 +£3.95 delivery (the tv got a good review, it`s only mono but you`ve got it linked to the F55 right)

AND

you`ve got a cracking little a/v system with MP3 and 20" TV for under £320!!!. It`s in my little bedroom and the sound is fantastic.....

Only one little niggle though NO VCD playback (unless anyone can help me out? As I`ve seen that the player might have the chip required just not enabled, possible remote hack?)

Have you got a link to a review of this telly? With the 10% discount for dixons that could be a very very good deal...

No problem dude.

Incidentally, that review lists the guide price as £230. Which, I think qualifies this for a (drum roll please) highly coveted "Billy Bargain" award. So there.

In all seriousness, 90 quid for a decent telly is not too shabby. And for the home cinema fanatic on a budget (ie me), it seems perfect. Certainly a step up from my 10 year old 14"er!

Good spot man.
