Does anyone know any more about the following models at Woolworths:

Im looking for if its region free (multiregion) and if it can be made Macrovision.. reason for that is that there is no scart socket on the TV only the video and want to get one for a christmas present.

Can anyone tell me watch the picture and sound quality is like from this machine.

I have a Thompson 3300 and it doesnt play mp3 or cdr and is not "Video friendly" so want to know if the Kiiro is worth upgrading to (down grading in price)

Ok i want to upgrade my DVD player to a cheap one that plays anything, is good quality and macrovision free/multiregion. I have the choice of these so which gives me all these features ?:

URGENT - Acoustic Solutions DVD551

Please help...
Tomorrow i have to go back to richer sounds to take my Cyberhome back as its packed up after 3 months. (scart socket dead). They have no more left to exchange so instead want to give me a Acoustic Solutions DVD551.

The problem is that it must be a macro free player as i have to connect it to my video as the tv does not have scart. If it has macro i cant watch the films. Anyone know if i can turn off macrovision ??

If not then i have £119 max to spend so need a player that plays everything inc. RCE, is region free and macro free (The cyber.home was fine)

Please someone help me with the Minato G1

I got one on Friday for a present for someone and its brilliant for the price but he does not have a scart socket on the TV. So I thought i would use scart on the Video....No chance though because even just trying to watch it shows up Macrovision.... Can I disable it ????

I want to keep the Minato but if it cant be used through the video then its no good to me. If this is the case will the Cyverhome 512 play through the video (i.e is Macrovision off ? and is it RCE ready)

Player might show region free message
When you switch off the machine it will not reset the region free code

As for VCD`s not sure....

One of my mates got one last week, Modchipped as well from linkonline.co.uk .

So far its been a brilliant player that also plays VCD,CDR and MP3.
I have the DTH3300 so recommended him to go with Thompson although my player is getting out of date.

I think i will get myself a £120 tesco brand one now...

Just got a Minato G1

Searched just about all Tesco stores to find one of these players and got one tonight.
What a bargain £129 for multiregion, MP3, VCD and i am quite impressed with the sound and visual quality.

I almost got the Alba DVD103 but with Tesco`s no quibble return policy it made my mind up for me

I am now looking at this player which has a 5 star rating in DVD mag..

Can anyone tell me if there is a hack for it - cant see on in the forum and is it ok with RCE

Bush DVD2009

I think i will go for the Bush DVD2009 for £119... Anyone know of any problems with the player and is it fine with RCE as I have searched the forum but seems very little feedback on it.

Thompson DTH3300

This post is from one of my mates...

I have a Thompson DVD3300 which i got from Linkonline.co.uk and paid for the paragon upgrade.

It lets me play all regions and i can backup by DVD`s to video to watch in another room providing they are Region 2. When i try region 1 to video it is just scrolling lines. I have tried changing the output from NTSC to PAL but makes no difference.

Also can this player play VCD`s ? and did i really need to pay for a mod chip for this player ??

Help, Im trying to get a cheap Multiregion dvd player for a birthday present.. I am looking at the following ones and don`t know which one to choose.
It needs to be easy to Multiregion hack and be good picture quality

Alba DVD103 - £129
Samsung 511 £??
Matsui DVD122 £128
Proline DVD2000 £128
Bush DVD2009 £119

Please help i need to choose before Friday !!!
