Sky Digital Remote Control for less than a fiver
Just pick up a Sky Digital Remote Control for £4.24 at my local Tesco. It`s made by PHILEX Electronic and it looks exactly the same as my original Sky remote, which would normally cost well over a tenner.
It works straight out of the box.

Oh...I see! Just checked my graphic card and it`s indeed a MPEG-2 card.
May I ask which particular software do you use to switch the region code and how to do it? I hope it`s freeware!

I have purchased a DVD ROM Drive for my PC and want to make it region free. I`ve downloaded a couple zip files, supposed to be some firmware files.
What shall I do next? There aren`t much instruction (readme file) attached to it.

NTL DigitalPlus Connecting Options
I am about to be a proud member of the NTL DigitalPlus service (currently analogue).
I don`t seem to be able to find much about its digital box...nothing on their website. Can anyone with NTL DigitalPlus help? Cheers!
All I want to know is what kind of output (audio and video) option would I have? I have a Sony Widescreen TV (1 RGB, 1 S-VHS, 2 other scart), a Sony DVP-NS400 with 2 scarts, a Sony STRE475 Receiver and an old Sharp Nicam Video (1 scart).
At the moment, the DVD player is plugged into the RGB scart 1 on the TV, NTL analogue connected to TV via Video with RF cable.

Got it today. It`s DTS version even though there is nothing to shout about the sound effect from this movie.
If you can live with the waiting time (7-10 days), then go for it.
I am sure that postal address is fake...I used to live there and don`t recgonise that one.

Ordered TRAFFIC a week ago. Good bargain DVD @ HK$83 + HK$30 shipping = $113 (around £10.50).

HTK-475 only costs £315 from unbeatable.co.uk website. I`ve ordered one and it`s due to arrive any moment.
Theoretically, the 475 should be far superior than the 215 (much better receiver)...hence if you can afford it, I would certainly go for the 475.

and in particular the link to "How to hook up your DVD player"....it tells you all you need to know about video and audio set up.
I bought this player about a week ago. Didn`t have much time to explore its features yet but SO FAR SO GOOD. The Techtronics version with mod is Multi Region so it will play Region 1 disc. Make sure your TV can playback NTSC though, otherwise you only get black and white image.

Choice of Audio Cable
I am about to invest in a Home Cinema System (Sony HTK-475), having purchased a DVD player with built in DD decoder and 5.1 Ch Out (Sony DVP-NS400).
My question is what is the pros and cons of connecting the DVD player and the Receiver (with 5.1 Ch In) with the following audio cables:
a.) 6 Phono analogue cables (5.1 Ch)
b.) a coaxial digital cord
c.) an Optical digital cord
How do I get the best sound quality outta the system?
