Cyberhome 505 Multi Region problems since Upgrading Firmware

I wonder if anyone is able to help. My Cyberhome 505 was multiregional - purchased as multiregional from Richard Sounds and it worked. I wanted to play Jpeg files so have updated the firmware to version 20763 which seems to work well. However, it is now stuck on Region 2 and I can`t alter it. I have tried the 1111 fix and although I can get into the menu, when I get to the region setting, although i can highlight it, it won`t let me change the setting to anything. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks Robin.

RE: Pioneer 535 distorted sound

Sorted the problem - changed it for a Yamaha s510. The audio quality is now fine and I`m a happy bunny.

Thanks for all your help

Robin

RE: Pioneer 535 distorted sound

Further info. It will play DVD`s fine but the Cd`s are still distorted. Have tried disconnecting the Scart plug - problem remains.

Thanks all for your help - please keep trying otherwise I might have to return this one and get something different.

Robin

RE: Pioneer 535 distorted sound

Further to my problem regarding the distorted sound. Richer Sounds replaced my DVD player today. I set it up and guess what, I still have the problem so it must be me. Can you tell me masala what your settings are for playing a CD. This is driving me nuts. I know its not my amp because the sound is distorted through the TV, ProLogic amp as well as my Pioneer Amp. Any help would be appreciated. Are there special settings for playing CD`s?

Also, thanks Brock for looking. Would like to know your settings as well as how you have the rest of it set up.

Clayts, don`t think I have LPCM whatever that is.

Thanks

Robin

RE: wanted multi regionand macro diabled dvd

They sure do. I bought mine Saturday. On the box is a label for Tridek DVD upgrades and inside is an instruction sheet on what you are able to do with the upgrade

RE: wanted multi regionand macro diabled dvd

Have just bought a Pioneer 535 from Richer Sounds for £199. This has been bought with a chip upgrade that enables multi region viewing, RCE compatable and macrovision off. I am having problems with distorted audio but I think its me rather than the player. What Hi Fi gave it a recommended for audio and vision quality.

Pioneer 535 distorted sound

I have just delved into DVD and purchased a multi region chipped Pioneer 535 deck. However, I seem to be having problems with the sound. I have connected it to my Pionner Amp udsing the Audio leads and when playing a CD the sound is distorted. I also have a Goodmans Dolby Pro Logic surround sound system (yes I know it`s not state of the art but I have to start somewhere don`t I!) I have connected the audio leads to this and the sound is distorted through this also. As the deck only has one Scart socket, I have bought a 2 scart adapter and plugged it into this socket. This enables me to use a scart for the telly, a scart to 2 phonos for the Pro Pogic amp and then the Audio output sockets on the back of the deck to the Pioneer Amp. I have tried to only use these sockets and disconnect everything else but the sound is still distorted. I don`t know whether it is the same for DVD`s because as yet I don`t have any but it is certainly a problem for CD`s.

Anyone any ideas I would be extremely grateful

Thanks
Robin
