RE: WARNING ROWA 280 DVD

Hi, I`m Gazza from Channeltech, and I gotta have my little say here...

I think everyone in the upgrade business has had the same problems, at least those who are very busy in this business for sure. We cant always keep up with the latest developments and revisions on DVD players, everyone tries their best, and of course all we want to do at the end of the day is provide a good service.

But, sometimes things dont go exactly according to plan, and looking at the situation with Steve, its exactly the same as what would have happened with myself.
I would have been determined to modify that player for the customer, especially if I knew he had travelled some distance..
Steve took the lid off the machine in the hope of recognising the guts, and making a successful upgrade for the guy, I think its a little out of order that he now has to take a barrage of attacks because of his initiative and determination.

Hell, a REAL cowboy would have said `huh, thats one I dont know m8, I`ll have to see if I can get a code for it`, but I know Steve, and his code (he made the macro-off and spindown for our PS2 mods), and his stuff is usually very good indeed.

All I can say here is I sympathise with you Steve, and also a liitle for the guy with the DVD, and I`m sure you yourself was very disappointed when he had to return home without the machine modded..

Just a shame he is one of those guys that like to drag things down, but hey..you cant be choosy about the customers you know :-))

`the show must go on`

TECHTRONICS... competitors view

Hi all, I have a tv workshop in South Wales, and have slowly crept into DVD upgrading etc. over the past few years.
A year or so ago I bought a DVD mod from techtronics for a Samsung 709, I didnt have the source code for this at the time.
When it arrived (a bloody bare chip), I installed it and it just did not function, so I contacted Techtronics and they said send it back..

this chip cost £50 mind you..!!!

so I did, and re-contacted them two days later...
whaddya know ...

`sorry sir, your chip hasnt arrived` !!

it went first class, but NOT recorded...

so I haggled over a couple of days with them, and their attitude was..
`how do we know you sent it back`..??

never mind `the customers always right`...
with Techtronics: `the customers always s***e`.

were talking a £0.50 pence 12c508 chip, and no benefi of the doubt was given...
