RE: Sampo DVE-660
I bought a Sampo 620 living here in the US and it works great, on everything. The 620 & 660 use the same codes as you find on this web site. I can play all 6 regions to a NTSC (American) TV with no problems, I think Japan uses NTSC anyway.
RE: What is the Best dvd player under £200?
Hey USA, sounds like I am in the same boat as you were. I have a Region 2 disc with PAL video out and I am trying to play it on my NTSC Sony RGB TV with no luck- just the colorful double image roll back. So you are saying that this Sampo DVE-620 (after hacking it, I have all the codes now) will play the R2 (or R1-6) disc and convert the PAL video output signal to a NTSC to play on a US TV? I did find it for $350 that plays all, and $159 that does not, but sounds like a hack is the only dfference, right? Hope this is all true (PAL to NTSC TV), will check out dynadirect if so. Thanks for any help here.
RE: philips 711
To gain the original format back to your 711, have no disc in the player &:
Play
1,5,9
When the dashes appear on the players face enter:
004001 000 140
Play
This code brought mine back to the original status.
RE: Philips 756 I need help !!
From what I hear you are supposed to be running your video signal RGB only, composite will not work, at least on mine it only work running it through RGB. However, most TV`s do not have Red Green Blue inputs, I do know that most Sony & Toshiba TV`s do.
Cut & Pasted:
Q. I HAVE ENTERED THE CODE BUT MY REGION DISC PLAY IN BLACK & WHITE
A. YOU NEED TO HAVE A TV THAT ACCEPTS AN RGB SIGNAL. MOST NEW TV`S HAVE 2 SCART IMPUTS, ONE RGB AND THE OTHER COMPOSITE. TRY SWITCHING. YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE A SCART LEAD THAT CAN CARRY AN RGB SIGNAL
Sorry, I do not know what a scart is, hope this helps.
Philips 711 Almost Hacked
My 711 original US player in region 1 now is in R2 and plays great r2 audio now, thanks to OneForAll and the 222... setup code. However... a double-fold flicker picture is on the RGB sent signal NTSC TV screen. This new 711 player is 7.03, would 7.12 fix this? The player is in NTSC as well, I checked this by pressing at the same time Play & Next on the unit. I switched these back and forth and nothing worked. Thanks for any help.

Pioneer DV 414: Need Region`s 2-6, have Region 1
Have tried the Remove Disc & closed door, Menu- Enter- Display- Condtion- and press say 2, it does not take, just jumps to another option. Any advise? Am I chipped bound? Thanks for any help.
