RE: what would you buy?

Gamestore in Manchester has sold out of Encores and doesn`t expect to get any more in.
Where else are they available at knock down price?
Where can you get them in black?

RE: Using Scan 2000 firmware on Manhattan DVD 2000

I may seem a bit of a thicky here, but how exactly do these firmware upgrades work? Presumably you download them form the internet, but on to what? A disk or CDR? If CDR you would need a CD-writer wouldn`t you?

Richer Sounds

Anyone bought a DVD player from them?
Any feedback on service?
Do they stock the same players in their stores as on their online pages?

BigSave.com

Anyone used them?
What are they like on customer support/delivery?
They are selling the Logix 3000 multi-region for £145 inc P&P.

RE: REPLACEMENT SCAN -WORSE THAN FIRST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

5,000 players in a month sounds quite a lot to me. Maybe it`s not that bad if the 95% not returned are happy with theirs. By the way 5% returned is 250 players not 500. If it`s 500 returned the 10% sounds a bit high for a return rate.
Who is Rubens Gonzalez though?

RE: REPLACEMENT SCAN -WORSE THAN FIRST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Pioneer multi-region is £220 at www.hifistore.co.uk. Looks good though and it is black (which I would prefer to match existing equipment). Only thing it doesn`t seem to do is play MP3s. Any other black multi-region players around at this sort of price that play MP3s? If not I might forgo the MP3 option. Any adverse comments on the Pioneer?

RE: Scan SC2000 with new firmware 204s : mp3 playback is excellent now.

Let us know how it performs Xeno. I`m still debating whether to buy one.

RE: Scan SC2000 with new firmware 204s : mp3 playback is excellent now.

So if I buy one over the counter will it definitely have firmware 204s? Also is there are a demo facility at the Bolton site?

RE: WHAT IS THE BEST- MULTI REGION,MP3,MACRO FREE, PLAYER.

Seriously though is there a sub-£200 player you would recommend that is multi-region and plays MP3s?

RE: Logix 3000 / Scan 2000

Thanks. Plenty of mixed comments on this site about the Scan 2000, and lots of good reviews in the DVD press (a few bad ones as well I think), but not much on the Logix 3000. Anyone got one? Any feedback on after sales service? Has it got 2 Scarts? What`s it like playing audio CDs/MP3s?

Logix 3000 / Scan 2000

Are they much the same? Logix going for £144.99 at bigsave.com, some £30 cheaper than Scan. Both play MP3s, which is one feature I need. Both are black, both multi-region. Not sure about no. of Scarts: Scan has 2, don`t know about Logix.
Now I know that some will say go for a Sony, Aiwa, Pioneer etc. but I don`t want to spend more than £200 (absolute max.) £150 would be even better.
Is there a better machine that is:
1. Multi region
2. Plays MP3
3. Black
4. Under £200 ?

RE: Scan SC2000

Yes, Bernie I was thinking of doing the same thing, if there is not too much adverse feedback from the Jan 5th batch. I don`t really want to spend much more than £175 in view of the rapid change in technology.

RE: More Scan Woes?

Yes, but presumably the press reviewers are a bit more enlightened and have actually used the machines. Or am I being totally naive?
Anyway can anyone tell me why, for instance the Pioneer 535 is better than the Scan machine. Hard facts please e.g. technical spec.

RE: More Scan Woes?

Let me know how you get on. Despite the adverse comments on this forum I would be prepared to give it a go for £175. It can`t have received so many good press reviews without some justification. I am assuming there must be more satisfied customers than disatisfied ones or they wouldn`t be selling "like hot cakes" still.
