RE: Need a cheap dvd player in BLACK!

Cheers guys for your advice.

I phoned Pulse Services. Bought my 528 in Oct 01, The 2yr Warrenties did not start until Jan 02, so any one with a player bought b4 that date will have no warrenty now.....

So I bought a Pionner DV350K in black, WHAT A MACHINE.

All the anoying problems with my ADL528 have disappeared. No Jerky playback of VCD`s encoded with Tmpgenc. Not dodgy screen shift with the new firmware, no annoying pops and whistles in mp3 playback. perfect PAL/NTSC playback with automatic switching.

what can i say, it`s also one of these lovely sexy slim models.....

RE: Reviews plz: Matsui 32" widescreen from Currys

Got my TV! What can i say, it does everything i could ask for and looks superb.

It has all the features i could want, like zooming the picture to remove black borders from movies etc, superb sound quality, even plays my ntsc imported PS2 games in full glorious colour......

what can i say i only payed 379 for it and aren`t paying for it until next year...

thanks for all the help guy`s now i just need to find a new DVD player quick that is black, since i knacked my cyberhome.

Need a cheap dvd player in BLACK!

Must play XVCD, VCD, DVD-R, CD-R CD-RW, MP3

Most players do these days....

MUST BE BLACK so wife doesn`t find out i`ve knacked my cyberhome by trying to flash an older firmware.

RE: best deal on 32" widescreen ?

Just got a Matsui 32" widescreen with matching stand for 379.99. fantastic.

RE: 32" Widesceen advice

No problem, i was going to buy an expensive set but thought, hey, this matsui is very good, in comparison, it might not do all the fancy stuff like picture in picture and stuff buy hey, for 379 who`s complaining, the picture looked tremendous to me, better than alot of the expensive makes like JVC that the set was stood next to on the display.

PLUS, it wasn;t silver......

RE: How much dosh was your first DVD player?

Around 2.5 years ago, my first choice was going to be the AIWA at the time, which was rated as one of the best, (i have a old AIWA ZM2600 Hifi which is just superb) but could not get one for love nor money.....(Bit like my Matsui 32" widescreen tele which i`m still waiting for since b4 christmas). So I paid 179 for a Phillips DVD711, but before i bought this i tried a goodmans from comet and a matsui from dixons, which i took back. the philips played everything inc vcd`s on CDR which was fairly rare in those days.

I gave it to my dad a year later and bought a Cyberhome ADL528 which i still have, as the philips kept sticking on vcd`s which had faults in the mpeg files.

However, whenever i visit my dad i`m still impressed by the look of the philips, it`s build quality was superb compared to the CH.

Just my 2 pennies worth

RE: 32" Widesceen advice

You could consider a Matsui 32" widescreen from Curry`s. Apparently from what I have read, they are quite good. I posted a "please review" thread for this set as i`m buying one and got alot of good feedback.

It`s only 379.99 inc vat with matching stand, buy now pay 2004 at currys and with the change you could by a PS2 or decent DVD player to use with it.....

RE: Reviews plz: Matsui 32" widescreen from Currys

Thanks for all the replies guys, very, very helpful. I am still waiting for the set to be delivered, to replace my aging 28" nicam set. Thought the matsui was a very competitively priced set @ 379 inc. stand as apposed to 799 for a sony or even 549 for a grundig.

Plus, the main factor was the case colour. All my stuff is black and a bright silver set (such as the goodmans from comet) would have looked totally out of place.....

Once again, if you guys can let me know any tweaks or tricks for this set b4 mine arrives, that would be great.

Reviews plz: Matsui 32" widescreen from Currys

Please any has one of these, could they please write a review, i`m in the process of buying one and want to find out as much info on them as poss.. b4 if finally agree.

Matsui 32" Widescreen TV (32WN20)

I`ve ordered one of these TV`s from Currys to replace my old Wharfdale 28" Nicam set, which has developed a power on fault.

I chose this model as it`s cheap, and not Goodmans or Beka (whoever they are) and i`ve heard stuff about matsui, that it`s made by Sanyo or Grundig.

has anyone got one of these sets and what are they like....

having to wait 2 weeks for delivery.....

I`ve got a Aiwa hifi linked to my old TV for the surround sound setup so don`t need tremendous sound..... just need to know if you can zoom the black bars off the top and bottom while watching DVD` etc and does it have an auto setting, like my mates Samsung, where it automatically zooms the picture etc.

Thanks in advance

RE: Palm pilot hack for Philips 711

I`ve got a hacked philips 711, what is rce anyway.... ?

RE: region crack for matsui dvd 120

to region crack a matsui dvd120:-

Turn on with no disk in drive.

Hold down STOP, OPEN/CLOSE and FFWD SKIP for a few seconds

a hidden menu will appear on screen and you can then select the region using the remote control.

Matsui DVD120 Macrovision hack

I`ve just bought Matsui DVD120, applied the region free patch, worked great, now want to know if ..

1) There is a macrovision disabling hack
2) If the DVD110 VCD enable hack will work on the DVD120.

Cheers in advance.
