Cheap Motorola razr

:)
Vodafone shops have "reconditioned" Moto Razrs in store for £40.
Bought one yesterday, it appears to be an up to date version with video capture and voice memo recorder.
As it comes with a years warranty, this seems like a better deal than is available on Ebay.
The one they had on display was pink, but they had others available.

RE: Cheap LCD bracket?

:)

Try Maplin, I got a mount for a 37" LCD this summer for £29.99, although I have just checked the price and it is now £59.99,but they have sales every few weeks and it might come down again

RE: Time fur ma tea folks,

>:( Was the refs granny from the Ukraine or what?
shocking!

RE: GPX Navigator

:D Just found my nearest Staples, looks like a road trip is called for

RE: Anyone know what this is? (a boat if you`re not interested..) ;-)

Cant remember what it is called, but I do remember watching a documentary on it, if I remember rightly its actually a cold war era Russian design which the yanks took up.
A sort of a cross between a plane and a boat and very fast.
Scares me just looking at it!

RE: GPX Navigator

:/ Do you have a link, I cant find this on the staples website

RE: free 512mb stick

:) Nice one, doesnt seem to matter that we are not in the US as it gives a link to the UK site

RE: faint vetical lines on LCD screen

:/ Ahhhhhhhhhh,
How do I fix it, move to non rgb scarts?

RE: faint vetical lines on LCD screen

Correct, using component video cables makes the problem (all but) disappear on my TV

RE: faint vetical lines on LCD screen

I have a similar problem on a Tosh 37wtl66, It is especially apparrent during sports broadcasts, but disappears when I watch stuff on component input,it annoys me as well! :/

RE: BBC interactive programming

Nope, standard sky setup, but with a seperate digibox in another room via a quad lnb

RE: BBC interactive programming

Thanks Sue for yet again taking an interest, I tried the same thing last night with the same result as yourself, I am going to see my mates setup and try to figure out why he got the result he did :B

BBC interactive programming

Right, this is a good one........
A mate of mine phoned today to ask me a question about the interactive/viewer choice on BBC channels on Sky.
He was viewing Proms in the Park on BBC via sky and pressed the red button to find one of the other locations.
When he found one that he liked , he started recording, but when he tried to watch the recording he found that it was of the original concert, why is this?

Sky reciever

:/ Ok, this should be an easy one for you guys, is there a Sky reciever apart from SkyHd and + that gives a 5.1 output?

RE: Pro Logic sound problems

:) Thanks Sue, I will post something if I fix it

RE: Pro Logic sound problems

:) Sue, thanks for that, yes I have tried a new lead which doesnt make much difference. The amp is definitely dts compatible.
The weird thing is that this problem doesnt show up with every disc,I can also replicate it by selecting the coax input and selecting the on screen menu of the hard disc.
Logic would say that the digital signal is either there or its not, if its not you wont get anything, but I wonder if a good clean of all the connections might help.

Pro Logic sound problems

:/ This might be something about nothing, but its annoying the hell out of me!
I run a Toshiba xds-24 hard disk/dvd recorder/player combo through an Acoustic Solutions Ds633 home cinema kit and by and large I am delighted by the sound.
But!
When I am playing a dvd and switch to co-ax input on the amplifier it appears to lock up and I get a loud clicking noise through the amp, I can get rid of this by pressing the "surround" button on the amp remote a couple of times, but like I say, its damned annoying! This also happens if there is any sort of break in the dvd or sometimes if I press pause and then play. This is especially apparent in older dvds,I assume its something to do with the dual layer process, but has anyone got any ideas?
How much am I missing if I listen to the output of the Toshiba via the phono leads as opposed to the co-ax?(there is no optical output)
I can stop the problem by switching from "bitstream" to "pcm" in the audio menu, but doesnt this just give me a 2 channel output?
Sorry guys, its a bit complicated!!!

Sharp DV-NC100 HELP!!!!!

:/

This is a weird one,
Yesterday I mistakenly put a wrongly formatted dvd-r disc in my Sharp video/dvd combi, it obviously wouldnt load and I had bother ejecting it. The thing is........., I dont know if this is a coincidence, but since then, the dvd player plays with a purplish tint over the picture, the video part is fine, as are any channels watched through the machine.
Is it something I can fix or is it new machine time?

RE: Cheap LCD/Plasma wall bracket

cheers bytemaster, I fitted the thing yesterday, very solid, easy to fit, more than adequate for a 37in Toshiba wlt66, although the advert doesnt say so, the bracket is also adjustable for viewing angle, so I am well pleased! 8)

Cheap LCD/Plasma wall bracket

:D Just bought one of these from Maplin, cheapest I have seen even on ebay, seems solid enough.

Cheap but half decent speakers

I`ve just bought a set of "usb sphere theater" speakers from the maplins sale for £12.49 inc delivery.
They are pretty cute and work well, ideal for a laptop I would imagine, they have a tricksy 3d style set up which could provide hours of fun!
They are actually £9.99, with Maplins giving you free delivery if you spend over £35. :D
