RE: Multi region info for the toshiba SD63HK

Alright mate,
The disk the chap was on about is probably the disk that was written for sd220 it does work on loads of the sd models but not on sd63hk , i know cos i tried, but there again i havent had a look at the combination of the disk with the internal switch , thats got me thinking!, i`ll have a look inside and try my disk again , i`ll let you know the results!

RE: Toshiba sd 350e Multiregion Hack?

Here`s the hack, but i havent verified it myself:

open the tray
type 2403960

close the tray
turn the player off
turn it back on

RE: Multi region info for the toshiba SD63HK

There are a lot of Toshiba players that can be hacked , i have done a few myself, granted some are not as straight forward as many other players but most can be done. So the statement at the top of the forum is not strictly true.

Anyways........., The 63HK can be done but its a software disk and apparently a switch has to turned on or off inside the unit , I rang RGB and they told me it would be 40 quid, i wanted to have a look round to see if i could locate the software on the net but alas no joy!, so i guess i might have to shell out , no probs though cos the 63HK is a spankin` unit, i was given a hack that i tried but to no avail, worth a shot on yours though:

Open tray
Press setup
Press 1 9 9
Select multi region

If above doesn`t work
Press 7 6
Press select
Highlight region option
Select 0 for multi region
There may be a following page that enables you to turn the macro off but this doesnt hold after power off
Press setup

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

It might not be necessary to upgrade the firmware, have you tried the hack with pressing play before you enter 159

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

Ive found a slightly differrent version of the hack , do everything listed before but press play before you enter the 159, hopefully this works!

RE: region hack for lgdr7400 please

This hack is for the 6921 , 7500 and 7800, so its worth a go:
1) Power On
2) Open Tray
3) Press Setup
4) Highlight the Lock Picture (Don`t Enter Right hand Menu)
5) Press "0" seven times
6) You now get a message on the screen saying "Congratulations - This player is now Region Free".

The last step may be slightly different, with the 6921 you have to select 0 again for region 0 on step 6 and not too sure if it displays the message

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

Have you tried it with the latest firmware installed, you can get it off the official philips website so you know its good .......www.p4c.philips.com

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

First of all, make sure that there`s no disc in your player. After that, use the `system` button on your remote and change the `remote control used` from `DVD Recorder` to `DVD Player`. Store this change. Now press 159 on your Philips remote. The recorder display will change to eleven dashes. On your remote, press 121 212 005 255. The last few digits on screen will not show, but don`t worry. Once you`ve done that, press `play` and power down your recorder. Your system will now be region free. All that`s left for you to do is change the `remote control used` back from `DVD Player` to `DVD Recorder`. You must do all of this without a disc in your machine.

RE: hack for Toshiba SDP-1600

Thats not exactly a true statement anymore, there are quite a few of the toshiba players that can be hacked now, unfortunately the SDP-1600 isn`t one of them....yet!

I know the lite-on has trouble reading certain media, i had the same trouble myself , just get the latest firmware update .liteonit.com then click the ODD heading then select firmware download , then model etc, i didnt worry about the language install box that keeps flashing up , just click cancel

RE: bose 28 need help

Hello mate, just been having a look at the yahoo group and it would seem that the region 1 version of the player needs to be converted to a european one for the hack to work , you have to connect the unit to your serial port and re prog it then apply the euro firmware then the hack, all the info files etc are on the yahoo groups , the 2 groups you want to join are: bose321(this is the main one thats updated v often) and bosels28ls35 , there is a good and current message board on the first site and they have all the docs you require in their files, including the pin outs etc for the serial cable.

RE: bose 28 need help

Reply to Giblet: I have no idea why the hack doesn`t work on your system, there is a bose yahoo group and its confirmed by many users that the hack works (with the latest firmware), if i find anymore info i`ll let you know. ........

RE: bose 28 need help

Hi Davdee, which version of the firmware do you need , the us or european?

RE: Multi Region Hack

This is the hack for the 5000 series but it works on the 2000, apparently!,
1. Wait until the message "no disc" or "region coding error" appears before you proceed to step 2. You only have a second or two to enter the code below.
2. Press PAUSE, ENTER, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 on the remote control.
3. Press 0 for region-free, 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, etc.
4. Press PAUSE on the remote control.
5. Power off the player for few seconds.
6. Power on the player.

if this doesn`t work you need to burn a disk with the firmware update on, i have the link if you want to put up your mail

RE: Philips dvp3055v dvd/vcr combi HACK

I cant find a hack for that particular model but there are 3 hacks for the DVP range, try this one first!:

Open the disk drawer
Go to the Set Up menu
Go to Preferences
Press the following sequence in the remote control: 135566
A menu indicating "Region Code" will appear.
Change region using down arrow until `0` is selected
Press "System Menu" to exit Set Up screen
Press Standby to save the setting
Restart

RE: need help

Some tv`s dont have NTSC as a setting in which case it will show black and white on region 1 dvd`s, Like blodwin said , if your able to select auto on your tv (and dvd) then thats what to do, also you need a full wired scart , if you dont have one then it will still come out B&W.

RE: DVDR Problem

I got this thread about the philips 726 , didnt know if it might work on yours?:

When I first got my 726 player, the video didn`t work. I called customer
service...I was instructed to open tray, then with remote press left arrow
then mute. This apparently turned off progressive scan (I don`t have a
digital TV). Works great, especially with the region hack!

RE: Philips 726 - Confused in Belfast

Hello again!
Downloading firmware updates onto disk is only for certain players that cant be remote hacked, below is the full work through on how to apply the hack to your machine:

- Power on the dvd player with no disc in tray.
- Wait until display on dvd player says -No disc-
- Open the tray pushing the button
on dvd player front panel.
- Press on remote control 9 9 9 9 0 (four times a nine
followed by a zero) leaving approx. 1 to 2 seconds
between each keypress.

After pressing the 0, in the upper left
corner of the TV screen the message `Region:0` appears.

- Close the tray.
- Now the dvd player is region free and ready for use.

Good luck!

RE: Philips 726 - Confused in Belfast

The only other info i can find out says that you should try with the drawer open and if that doesn`t work then try with it closed , the 9`s method is the correct one but it does say to press the buttons slowly, ie leave a couple of seconds between presses

RE: Multi Region Hacks for Samsung SV-DVD440?

1. Power on the system with an empty tray, it will display "No Disc".
2. Press the SUBTITLE key and then press 57538. It will display the current region setting.
3. Select the desired region setting (9=region free, 1=region 1, 2=region 2, ...).
4. Confirm the choice by pressing the SUBTITLE key.
5. Power down the system. (this step may not be necessary:not tested)

At your next power on, the system will be set to the desired region setting.

The unit has to be in dvd mode not vcr for it to work

RE: Philips 726 - Confused in Belfast

The 9999 0 method is the correct one , but the disk drawer has to be open when you put the code in

RE: bose 28 need help

i actually have the files so i can send `em direct, which files, the 28 or 48?

RE: bose 28 need help

Alright mate , the 48 needs to be done in 2 stages , the head unit and the bass unit, the link i have for the head unit is currently down , i have the bass unit but you need to do the head unit first , as soon as the link is up i will forward it to you

RE: bose 28 need help

Sorry to go on!!, ive actually got the firmware update , its for the 18 , 28 and 35 models and its the european version, but this is also used to convert a us player to european , and then the codes will work!!, all you need to do is burn the file to a cd, the file is a self extracting iso, just open it in nero and it will automatically start the burn process.

RE: bose 28 need help

It looks like its a firmware issue then , the text i read said that it needed the latest firmware for the hack to work, i have a link for the firmware upgrades but cant post links on here , if you want the link give me your mail address.
