DVD REGIONS

I have a region 2 dvd player. Will a dvd advertised as being regions 2 & 4 be completely compatibile or could it cause problems and therefore best be avoided

VIEWSONIC LCD TV AN Y GOOD ?

Battlestar Galactica

Having missed it the first time I decided to watch the repeat run starting on Sky last night. Although it was billed as being the first episode, it started off by showing what happened previously.
Did Sky get it wrong and show the wrong episode or do the previous events refer to the mini-series which I also missed. Do I need to watch the mini first ?

Please help me choose a DVD recorder

Help.. My VCR has given up the ghost and I am now considering buying a DVD recorder. Due to the fact that I have some Argos vouchers and an extremely limited budget I have been looking at 3 models

Can anybody give me any advice on whether any of these are worthwhile. I will be using it only for recording and watching programmes recorded from terrestrial TV and NTL digital cable. I would also like to be able to play any recorded discs on other DVD players

Thanks, but doesn`t this only rip CD`s. I want to copy my old LP`s. They`re those big old plastic things for those of you too young to remember

Can anyone recommend some free software so that I can transfer my old LP`s onto my computer ?

Once I have done this and converted them to MP3, can I then download them onto an MP3 player with song titles and artists to enable the search etc facilities to be used

A number of sites, such as mymemory.co.uk, are offering SD MP3 players at what seem ridiculously low prices. What are these like, sound quality, features or should I save my very hard earned pennies and go for a pukka player ? ---Thanks

Bluetooth Dongle

My son tells me that the needs a bluetooth dongle so that he can transfer "stuff" between his phone and computer. The prices for these seem to differ wildly. Are they all much the same or is there something I need to know when choosing one ?

URGENT SCANNER HELP PLEASE

Finally convinced the other `alf that I must have a scanner. Now the next problem, what one do I get.
I want to scan 35mm photos & slides and possibly negatives. I like the look of the Epson range P2480/P2580 but have seen PC world do the P3490 for £60. Would appreciate any advice on which one to get. Must strike now before she changes her mind.

I have been given the option of purchasing either a Samsung Syncmaster 730MW or a Samsung Syncmaster 930MP at greatly reduced prices. If I do purchased one I intend to use it for TV viewing only.
Has anyone any experience of either of these ? Which one is best ?
