RE: sony vaio tx series laptop

Did you have a go on one?

No, I was actually in there looking at the new Walkman MP3 players but the salesman was demonstrating the TX1 to another customer. As I remember, the main points were the lightness (the casing`s one of those new compounds they make tennis racquets out of) and battery life. The screen quality looked very crisp to me and there was some sort of anti-glare system that enabled it to look good in artificial light and bright sunlight .

Hope this helps!

Back to the original query, however - yes, they are available in the UK. I saw one in my local Sony Store a couple of weeks ago.

At last - the new Walkman reaches the shops!

Having read about it in September, I`ve finally seen one of the new Walkman A3000s (20GB)

Slightly larger that the HD5 but with much better design and improved software as promised. The man in the SonyCentre said the delay was in order to tie the launch in with the "25 Years of the Walkman" Exhibition in London - so nothing to do with Christmas at all!

the rumour being that they will allow wmp & any other software that gas certified drm built in to work wit the new kit tbh, this would be huge if it happened

wma support for the new Sony Walkman is to come as a firmware update in December, according to another board I was looking at.

RE: Home Cinema Kits - WITHOUT DVD PLAYER!!

This might help:

or, if you`re still willing to sell off the DVD player, there`s a new 2.1 system - the Sony DAV-x1 at:

Re the nano replacing the mini -

Similarly the Sony HD5 is about to be replaced by the NW-A3000 Walkman - slightly bigger with some new features (especially new software to replace SonicStage)

RE: new walkman

MilesR - I found this on the Sony website if it helps. Not sure what the new Connect software means but it might fit the bill!

RE: so many mp3 players so little time

It`s pretty annoying for those of us who bought the HD3 not too long ago! but it does semm to have many extra features for about the same price. Actually, I`ve been very impressed with my HD3, especially the battery life, which they seem to have even improved on the HD5

RE: I love my 20gb Ipod but....

The new Sony Flash Mp3 range have three with inbuilt digital radios (the NW-E503, 5 and 7) although being Flash the max is a 1GB
