RE: New Harry Potter Book - £5 including delivery or Tesco in store (if spend over £50)

Nice lady at Asda confirmed despatch of my order and Saturday delivery yesterday afternoon. Damn you Royal Mail...what exactly does 1st class mean anymore.

Really annoyed by this.

RE: Multimedia PC Base Station at Aldi £399.99 from 15th

385 reviews on the ebuyer site should give you a clue as to how good this machine is. I have it and I am very happy...just don`t expect your Vista upgrade in a hurry...still waiting for mine.

RE: Multimedia PC Base Station at Aldi £399.99 from 15th

Can`t be done...or couldn`t when I bought it last month. I always build my own but I totted up the parts in the Acer and it came out over £400 from my local PC parts supplier (or online).
Even if it came out the same I couldn`t be bothered with the build for an out-of-the-box PC like this.
Still, my Acer is souped up to a new PSU, 2GB and 7900GT so it runs pretty nice and Vista is in the post... :)

RE: Multimedia PC Base Station at Aldi £399.99 from 15th

I got the Acer T180DC and it is a steal at that price.
It has socket AM2 and 1gb of DDR 2 533mhz as well as Realtek Hi definition audio and Geforce 6100 graphics (I put in a geforce 7900GT that I won). Also Seagate Sata 3.0 160gb HD and dual layer DVD writer. It is a fantastic machine being sold for over £100 more now it has Vista preinstalled.
Did I mention 9-in-1 card reader and 7 USB sockets all in a micro ATX factor with a really well built case; room for another two RAM chips, SATA drive and IDE drive.
Plus, as mentioned, you get to use Win XP Pro (well, Media Centre) until your Home Premium upgrade arrives for just £14 P+P.
They are going fast though and being replaced with Vista machine for £399 but ebuyer have some as well as lots of positive user review (350+?).
Best buy I made all year...and no lining up at Aldi at 8.00AM for a chance to get one.

RE: Samsung 4GB MP3 player £80

For anyone actually interested in this;
I ordered it early yesterday morning (about 2 am) and it was despatched before 12 noon same day. Arrived at 9am this morning (Friday). Not bad at all for free delivery

Oh, and the player...superb. Highly recommended... :)

Samsung 4GB MP3 player £80

Over at Play, they are selling this `Nano` beater for £80 but that is for the silver version. Black is £20 more.

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/911712/Samsung_YP_Z5_4GB_Silver_MP3_WMA_Player/Product.html

Most other places are selling this for over £100 and reviews on the net generally put it`s playback as better than the Apple ipod Nano, which it is almost the same size as. Most features are considered better than the nano-particularly the 35 hours playback, but the control system can be a little fiddly.

Still, my wife has been eyeing up a Nano at £120+ so this will be a nice (late) xmas pressie for her.

RE: FREE £5 voucher for CDwow.!!!! Hurry !!!!

I wouldn`t worry too much. I ordered Yoshi DS and it did not show in orders but turned up a few days after. I rang and they said they had problems with their system. Looks like they haven`t sorted it yet... :/

RE: Cars Region 2 DVD-bargain?

Just popped into Asda and they are asking £13.97 so quite a difference. Looks like a trip to Tesco`s then...unless Morrisions are cutting their price to match.

Cars Region 2 DVD-bargain?

I am led to believe that Disney Cars is going for £9.97 at Sainsbury (haven`t been in myself yet). Any idea if this is the cheapest? Asda and Morrisons seem to be having a bit of a price war lately.

RE: Play.com £5 off codes....

Damn, I just realised my £5 voucher expired...I must be working too hard if I missed spending this one... :(

RE: Play.com £5 off codes....

Found a £5 voucher in my inbox this morning. Many thanks to original poster.

Now to spend it... :)

RE: 19" WIDESCREEN TFT WITH BUILT IN TV TUNER £159.99

I got two of these in the summer as I needed flat screen TV`s for the bedrooms. They have a 1 year warranty and tiny inbuilt speakers (not very loud) and come with one of those awful tiny membrane remotes; not much bigger than a credit card.

Picture is OK, or rather was at the time, but now I would pay a little more for a branded model with a 3 year warranty. Not tried this as a monitor though.

Still, it is cheap... :)

RE: Aldi Tevion 40" LCD TV instore for £849 from 7 September

Got the magazine with this one in today. As well as the Samsung screen, which I believe are good quality, it has a LG tuner built in and the wall bracket is a tilting one which normally cost £30+. Add a 3 year warranty which must be worth a few bob and it looks like a good buy.

RE: Woolworths Discount......

Brilliant!

Just ordered the new pink PS2 for my daughter and got it for £116.
Not bad for an exclusive PS2, two pink controllers, a pink memory cards and a travel bag.
oh, and did I mention the Popstar and microphones thrown in-no P+P as I can collect from store.

Cheers for this.

RE: The Incredibles & Finding Nemo on PS2 for £2 each

Same here...security checks, cancellation emails and now despatch of the incredibles with £4 being charged when only one game has been sent.
Will need to check my visa bill...

RE: PRICE CRASH AT WOOLWORTHS

Followed promptly by the system crash at their end. Have you tried ordering?
Even if you manage to get to the checkout they seem yo have no idea about stock checks etc.
Just check the two PS2 games for £2 each thread to see.

RE: The Incredibles & Finding Nemo on PS2 for £2 each

I got an email asking me to verify my details as part of a security check. I replied and just checked my account which now says the items are being processed...fingers crossed then.

RE: The Incredibles & Finding Nemo on PS2 for £2 each

My order is awaiting security checks i.e.clearing my credit card. I guess that means it shoulg do through. I mean, surely they would check stock before trying to charge me...wouldn`t they... ;)

RE: The Incredibles & Finding Nemo on PS2 for £2 each

Worth persisting...Just manually enter the Woolworths site and go to the sale section. When you find the game-add to basket. Just ordered mine for the kids.
However, I do not like the way you have to give your Card details when you sign up...I prefer to do that at checkout. Using the link I did not have a padlock in my toolbar.

RE: Cheapest 19 inch TV I have seen

Samsung looked much better but then it is nearly £140 more-you could almost get two of these. It tuned in to all the channels automatically though they were a bit fuzzy (my rubbish ariel).
Put a freeview box on today and it was much better. No idea how it looks as a monitor until I get my laptop back... :)

RE: Cheapest 19 inch TV I have seen

Got it this morning and the face of it looks fine. Round the back there is a TV box module bolted on with all the relevant connections and a pass through for monitor connections. Seems a bit of an after thought but it does have wall mount screws on the TV box and a handle on top with buttons and IR panel.
Works fine so far but there is no scart only Video and L+R audio but that is fine. Volume is not bad for a LCD monitor either.

Cheapest 19 inch TV I have seen

I just reserved this Advent 19" Widescreen monitor with TV tuner for collection at my local PC World. I have been looking for a Widescreen LCD TV for the kids room for a while now and, although they have a nice HDTV Samsung for £279, this must surely be the cheapest out there; £164.99

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/670222

Anyone know if it is any good, or are there alternatives near this price?
I presumed lack of connection and speakers might be the reason but I rang the store and the guy confirmed Scart and regular co-axial as well as built in speakers.
C`mon guys-what is the catch here?

RE: Nintendo DS lite £89.97 at Asda

Got mine from Asda this morning and the price was indeed £89.97. A big store like my local Asda only had two units in stock so I guess I got lucky. A lot better than the `phat` DS-both cosmetically and performance wise. Eldest daughter just inhertited ny old one.

Nintendo DS lite £89.97 at Asda

Always tricky getting any sense on the phone from my local Asda but I rang to see if they were getting the DS lite in and they apparently have them in already. Embargo means they can sell them from midnight tonight.
And the price is £89.97...now they may be thinking of the existing DS price otherwise that is the cheapest store price (without ordering online) I have seen. And you could have one at midnight tonight. Worth ringing your local store before making a trip.

RE: Free DTS/Dolby/Stereo PCM test DVD from Bowers and Wilkins

Mine arrived this morning-that was quick! Nice little package too... :)

RE: Goblet of Fire - supermarket sweep (instore)

Asda usually have great prices for first few days of a big DVD release. Often under £12. Anyone able to confirm this as I pass there on my way home..Ta... ;)

Ok, just rang the Doncaster store and apparently it is £12.47. I guess that makes ASDA the cheapest store to be selling it...so far...

RE: psp giga pack £199

Just rang my local Blockbuster in Doncaster and they confirmed that the Giga Pack is £199.99. No games there-just the usual stuff but with the 1gb card rather than the 32mb card. Plenty in stock too!

RE: Bookpeople free delivery

FREE10 does not work, however Free10 seems to do the trick. :)

RE: Amazon free delivery from £15 now

Worked for me a few weeks ago. I ordered books and a game which was subsequently delayed. The books were sent and I got fed up waiting for the game so I cancelled it. Got charged for the books only and got free delivery. :)

Quake 4 for PC. £20.49 or less

Just ordered Quake 4 from CD Wow for £18.49. Found a link for HSBC customers for £2 off games. This is the 4 CD version as opposed to the DVD version(which is about £6 more) but for nearly half the price I saw it in PC World today, I am not complaining. :)
