Can`t we do away with the randomness of gremlins lives?

Having just watched PruToo and Spud pass on, I feel that it`s somewhat unfair for gremlins` life spans to be so random. PruToo was born on the 18th December, yet passed away today, even though other gremlins born 4 days earlier live on to fight another day. To PruToo, it made all the difference, as she was likely to take top overall gremlin spot had she lived past midnight.

When you`ve worked so hard to climb up high, it sucks to lose like this.

John, it`s only that way because of my stats - if I opt for extra stamina, I don`t knock out the middle ranked gremlins - the fight goes all the way to 20 rounds. Because of this, I`m picking up loads of points and loads of challenges. I do think the game needs tweaking to make the lower ranked gremlins think twice before going for easy points at the expense of a loss. I think losses should now be taken off your score.

I`m on 4642 - 25 points behind Sprinkles - current No1 in the HoF! :/

From my calculations, you`ve now taken top overall gremlin in the hall of fame (you`re on 4759). If he lives on, Psychobabble will drop to 3rd (2nd if you don`t live on) in the current league at midnight, as he`s on 4370 with no challenges awaiting him. So,it`s all down to the random life expectancy of our gremlins. :(

I`m now on 4636 points - up 689 points over the course of the day, with one challenge left to be answered (Norman - however, I don`t think he`s playing now :( ). Psychobabble has 7 challenges waiting for him to accept, and probably a few results from his own challenges waiting to be viewed. You`re currently on 4759, by my reckoning. So, it`s hard to say which of you two has taken top spot until midnight. One thing`s for certain; we do have a new top gremlin overall.

I don`t think you`ll pass on tonight, Statto. Hopefully, I`ll stay about for a couple more days, too. I think Psychobabble might well die tonight, though. :(


EDIT: Just checked - I`ve now had 43 fights today!! That`s an average of 16 points per fight!!! :o

Maybe it should? That would make lower ranked gremlins less willing to go for easy XP points by losing to higher ranked ones. It could well bring some balance back into the game.

The game works on points, not just pure wins. In the HoF, the number one ranked gremlin is the one with the most points overall, not the most wins.

Well, I`ve got 248 wins now, yet have fought less than most of the other top gremlins. So, if you`re going to compare, you have to compare taking into consideration the amount of wins out of the amount of overall fights. Not only that, you have to take into consideration how long the gremlin lived for. After all, some gremlins live for upto 7 days longer than others. As I`ve said, I`m 4 days younger than Psychobabble - if I were to die 4 days after him, I guarantee that I could top his win count. Unfortunately, I`ll die soon after him :(


I`ve had 336 fights, of which I`ve won 248. Psychobabble has had 481 fights, of which he has won 319. If you work out the percentage of fights won out of the overall amount of fights, I think I`m above Psychobabble. (I`ve won 74% of my fights - Psychobabble`s won 66% of his.)

Yep, Psychobabble`s doing really well. Stat`s now ranked 1st for dexterity and I`m 1st for stamina and 2nd for dexterity. If Stat manages to live for one more day, he could well take 1st in the current league and could possibly take 1st best ever gremlin. Hopefully, I`ll outlive both Psychobabble and Stat ( as I`m actually 4 days younger than Psychobabble and 2 days younger than Stat). If I manage to do it, I`ll take 1st best ever gremlin. Right now, I`m on 4501 with some of my challenges waiting to be accepted. I do better on XP points than Stat and Psychobabble when fighting lower ranked gremlins, as Psychobabble tends to knock them out really fast, and Stat`s dexterity means he also manages to knock them out fairly fast. Most of my hits out tend to be very light.

On the downside, none of us will stay up top for long in the best ever gremlin league, as the XP system will allow babies to climb up the league so much faster now, thus giving them more time up the top.

Because of his strength advantage, we went the whole 20 rounds. He didn`t manage to get a hit in, but we both did extremely well out of the fight. :D

I`m up 336 points (score is now 4283) since midnight, having fought 24 fights and with 6 challenges still to be accepted by other gremlins.

Strangely enough, this new fight engine has actually increased the speed I`ll be moving up. I`m now on 3925 points, up over 300 points since midnight. Once lower ranked gremlins realise how much they stand to gain by challenging the likes of me, I`ll go up even faster (as long as I`m not dead), and so will they. My stats (very low strength, high and level stamina and dexterity) help make sure a lot of the middle ranked gremlins I fight will go to 15-20 round, thus we both get loads of XP regardless of who actually wins. The other higher ranked gremlins won`t be able to do that, as they have high strength, which makes sure the fight only lasts 2-3 rounds and they get naff all on XP, even though their opponents still walk away with 15 points. For this reason, the other high ranked gremlins won`t fight low ranked gremlins.


The only other high ranked gremlin who probably will accept all challenges is Stat (spud), as he has stats like me.

DeadPisces is my son! I`ve no idea why he refused you. ;) Sock Puppet refused me, too, and I`m ranked above him! Psychobabble nearly terminated his gremlin this morning because of this. According to another thread, it isn`t a bug.

If you get picked on by a much lower gremlin, yes you get the win, and they get loads of XP.

Refuse the challenge, and pick on people your own size is still the aim of the game.

The win doesn`t really matter to me, as it`s only worth 3 points in the general scheme of things. On the last two that challenged me, I got 6 points from one and 4 from the other (they got 16 and 15 points a piece). On the one before that, the gremlin had strength at 424, stamina at 450 and dexterity at 450 compared to my stats of 215, 1516, 1514 respectively. The fight went to 15 rounds before I knocked her out. She got 15 XP points even though she didn`t even manage to get one hit in. I grabbed 16. We both gained. She gets points for nothing and rockets up the league. I`ll be dead soon, so am just grabbing what I can.

Check this out. Look at the difference in stats, yet the fight still went to 20 rounds and we both got loads of points.


A lot of the higher ranked gremlins are getting annoyed because they`ve accepted challenges from really low ranked gremlins, beat them, got a couple or so XP points, then fopund that the losing gremlin got 15 XP points. For this reason, many of the top ranked gremlins won`t accept fights from the lower ranked gremlins now. I`m one of the higher ranked gremlins willing to fight all, regardless.

Everyone`s a winner when they fight me! I won`t knock most out because my strength is so low, so most fights will go 20 rounds.If they are ranked really low and I do knock them out, they still get loads of XP. I get XP, they get XP. Everyone`s happy.

Oh, and :p

Here`s an example of a rather low ranked gremlin grabbing 16 lovely XP points for losing to me.

As I am currently ranked 4th in the league, most lower ranked gremlins who fight me are guaranteed lots of XP points, regardless of how many hits they get in. I`ve got very low strength, so most fights will go to 20 rounds. I will accept all challenges, esp. those from lower ranked gremlins. So, if you want loads of XP, just challenge PruToo. If you`ve got high strength, you may even get the win too! :D

Same here, Statto. Personally, I think the HoF should take into account the number of fights gremlins have had, as well as overall points.

Psychobabble`s now changed to a pensioner. I became a pensioner when the league updated last night. Should have a few more days left.

Well, my total points now stands at 3601, as long as I don`t fight anyone else today. When the league updates at midnight, if Chewie`s still about, I should overtake him in the league.

Not too sure how or why I`ve become a pensioner already, when Psychobabble was born 4 days earlier than my gremlin and is still silver haired.

I got him both times, Stat, so no worries.

I just took a look at your fights with him. You and I both boosted dexterity and Chewie boosted stamina. Not sure why I won both times and you lost both times. The other thing I`ve noticed is that as long as I keep strength really low, I get XP points for being a weaker gremlin if I lose to the higher ranked ones. Either way, this new fight engine has given me more XP points and more challenges.

Statto and I come from the other forum - we found out about this game due to the very thread you are talking about. We have not discussed this in great detail on the other forum (for those who feel compelled to check, Chewie`s talking about thedvdforums.com - the thread`s in the general discussion forum). You`re the one quoting from the thread on the other forum - your job must be incredibly boring.

As your initial post says, you didn`t start this thread to help us save our challenges - we`d have done that after you refused them - you started this thread as a taunt.

Seems he only applies his "within 50 points" rule to certain people. He was obviously quite happy to give Dribbly2 16 points on a 20 round fight in which he was unable to even get a hit in.
