Who`s the wise guy that`s nicked www.dvdsilver.fsnet.co.uk web site, been trying to get on all last week , no luck !!! . Have they gone !!! or am I stupid ( nice comments please ! )and got the address wrong. Hav`nt bought anything off them , just somebody said to try them. Also there`s a site called www.silverdvds.co.uk , is this the same lot ???. OKAY !!! I`ll turn my back and bye the time I`ve counted to 3 ..................

Yo stuey, Cheapest Aiwa I`ve seen is at www.bennettsonline or try their stores if you live in their area . Or if you are really strapped for cash and a mean bugger you could always try this , follow my cunning plan as Baldrick would say. Check Comets web site , they offer a price guarantee match on the items they sell, they say they will match the price and also give a extra 10% off but only if the item in question ( Aiwa 370 ) is for sale in another store and is within a 10 mile area of a Comet store . Bennetts have stores in east Anglia area ? this is where you have to do your homework , check if a Comet store is within the 10 miles of a Bennetts. May be worth a try !!!! no good to me I live 50 miles north of Inverness, but if it works you should end up with a Aiwa 370 for £151.60 roughly. Nice eh !!!! you have to be hard necked and pushy to try this with Comet, but hey !!!! who knows . Pedro the Maaaaaad 8O)

The Scan or should that be SPAM you have to upgrade the firmware every 3 months or so to iron out all those niggles and thats if you have a cd writer to download to it . Don`t you just want to sit down, relax, press play and hey !!!! it works !!!! with good pics + sound and IT plays mp3s . Aiwa 370 either from comet or if you want it cheaper than that try www.bennettsonline.co.uk includes vat + del , you wont believe the price !

LG 3350E from dabs.co.uk but you will have to wait till after christmas out of stock.

Pioneer 535 from richersounds.co.uk

I prefer the first two myself , don`t know if i can wait till after christmas otherwise i`d go for the LG and of course the sales will be on . Always use yer credit card if poss gives you a double guarantee. Pedro 8O)

I to was interested in the Scan and heard both good and bad reports , I was hoping someone from Scan would convince they were good with no probs, but no one has ! I think the biggest prob is the returns + refund part unless of course you live in Bolton. I`m going for either the LG 3350E if i can get hold of one cheap enough or the Aiwa 370 from Comet. The Continuing Saga of SCAN in 64 million Episodes

Thanks to one and all for all the feedback about the scan feel its a bit to iffy. OK ! I did get some good reports about it , but most seemed bad. Had a good hard think about it whilst sitting ( thats right ! sitting ) on the bog, and wondered if I should either try the Aiwa xd - dv 370 or the LG 3350 . I know comet sell the Aiwa on there web site but its a different model no: Aiwa xr - dv370kn ? is this the same ?. The only reason I would buy one from Comet is that its near enough to me ( 60 miles away, I do live in the far north of Scotland ) that i can take it back if there are any probs without having to pay huge postal costs to send a player back to England. Any body out there who could tell me if i can get a LG 3350 for £200 or under inc. postage ? thats my budget !
Of course if the new batch of scan machines are perfecto and somebody could convince me they are, Scan maybe ? i might still be interested. So what do you think of my choices ? got any better ideas , all info gratefuly recieved and digested ( oh god ! here i go again back to the loo ) .Thanks , Pedro.
PS will be buying a player next weekend , still got time to convince me of the right one.

Scan SC DVD 2000 Player / To buy or not to buy ?

Hi all, as this will be my first purchase of a dvd player ( o.k less of the virginal jokes please ) the Scan seems to fit the bill especially after reading good reviews about it . But oh dear ! I happened to stumble across this forum today and read some of the orrible + nasty things happening to Scan players, as you all can imagine I`m in a bit of a dilemma now !. So if you kind folks out there could allay my fears I would be very grateful.
Is it worth getting ! or is there a" better "player on the market with the same features at roughly the same price ?
As I live in the very far north of Scotland how good is Scans refund + returns policy ?
How good is picture + sound quality for dvds + mp3s ?
From one very confused ( must take the pills again ! ) hopefully to be dvd owner. Merry Xmas , Pedro
