LG3350 & Gladiator disc 2

Amazon`s Gladiator DVD page states that LG owners have reported the Gladiator disc 2 problem. Is this true? Is this the case for the LG3350?

Anybody with an LG3350 play this disc fine?

And is it `an` LG3350 or `a` LG3350?

And what`s Swedish for `rocks`? (I`m not Swedish, but the question just popped into my head).

RE: Where do I buy a LG3350?

Thanks guys. I`ve just ordered one from The Big Hut.

This just shows you that:
a)there are still some out there
b)people in this forum will help you out
c)this forum rocks!

I just hope the LG does!!

My only regret is that I`ll be excluded from the 99% of messages here about SCAN. I`ll tell my story of dealings with SCAN one day.

Where do I buy a LG3350?

Sorry to reopen this old thread (credit: SmokedKipper), but does anyone know of anywhere at all that has the LG3350 in stock?

Thinking about it, I don`t have a clue where to start asking? Where are the key places that I should start when trying to buy a DVD player?

All ideas appreciated.

Merry Christmas (has anyone else said this yet??)!

Wish I could say what rocks, but I don`t have a player yet! Please let me join the club.

SCAN and Enhanced Regional Encoding?

Just read a terrible review of the SCAN SC-2000 in DVD review. Absolutely slaughtered it. Now, I don`t want to start another thread of SCAN-baiting (please!), but does anyone know which firmware version was reviewed?

Secondly, the review said that the SCAN couldn`t cope with Enhanced Regional Encoding. Is this still the case?

All help appreciated.

RE: Should I choose PAL disks over NTSC?

Thanks for this description Robert, it was really interesting.

However, being a bit overawed by these scientific pros and cons, I`m left with one burning question - Should I choose PAL disks over NTSC?

Are you saying that, taking everything into account, NTSC disks are noticably worse than PAL disks? Am I right to be waiting for the PAL version of my favourite film if I want the very best picture (Braveheart, incidentally)?

By the way, I am consistently impressed by this site. Thanks for putting so much effort into it.
