I`m building up my Simpsons and LOTR sets and if I ever see an X-Files box at less than £30 I`ll buy it.

GameBoy Player for GameCube Very Cheap

I`ve been looking for a GameBoy Player, which is the gizmo that fits under you GameCube and lets you play GameBoy cartridges on the TV. No-one discounts the usual price of £40 much. So, delighted to get one for £15 in the John Lewis clearance. This was at the Canary Wharf branch in London (actually called Waitrose House and Home). They seemed to have two and I bought one, this was late yesterday.

They also had wireless real Mac keyboards for £34, which made it a good trip.

RE: 4400 on DVD from (yeah ok I know they suck) DVDSoon

No, DVDSoon don`t suck; I`ve had good stuff from them - well packaged for the extra 1 CAD and good deals as posted on this forum. I did get my ROTK gift set from them for approx £19 and it`s great. However, certainly the saving isn`t worth bursting a blood vessel over. I noticed them for £25 in Woolworths in Bromley (SE London) at the weekend. Maybe spend the 10CAD credit wisely, get out to Woolies and cheer yourself up.

Original Style X-Files Box Sets now £25

Bought season 3 yesterday at FOPP in London (Covent Garden area, near the 7 dials). They also have branches in Leamington and Cambridge that I know of.
They seemed to have most seasons available - for those trying to complete their original collection, these are definitely not the new `M-Lock` style they are the full 7 part digipacks.
Still at Amaxon for the original £60-£70, so £25 each looked pretty good.
Go to `about` to find store locations. FOPP

RE: Dimension 3000 2.6GHz (Celeron D) 17

It looks good, but be aware that NONE of the special offers apply to this system. i.e. you don`t get the free delivery, the double memory or the flat panel upgrade. Hence it`s not £269 including delivery, instead the total comes out at £373.65 inc. VAT due to Dell`s fantastic delivery charge.

RE: robot hoover retails at between £249 & £399 on offer for £99. what a deal

Just thought I`d look it up and the £99 doesn`t look such a great price when Amazon in the states are doing it for $49.99. So what`s going on?

RE: Save 50% on train tickets

>:( Well just bought 4 saver tickets from London to Stoke. I did need them anyway and I usually use QJump. However, I went right through to the end exactly as described [cember 7th booking for a train on 3ec 15th, Saver return] and no discount appeared. I have been charged the normal price. So, others beware - I did need the tickets and would have bought them anyway. Don`t take the risk or change your plans!

RE: Philips 610 DVD Recorder for £99.99

SavaCentre Bell Green (Sydenham - South East London) had about 15 of the white box Mico`s at £85 yesterday. It`s got a big electrical department and had quite a lot of other stuff as well including a portable DVD player at £30 (didn`t note the make).

RE: Free A4 Laminator when you buy 3 packs of Laminating Pouches...and other offers

I use a lot of lamination stuff and I buy good quality pouches from GLS Education supplies (account only I`m afraid). They sell 100 A4 150 micron pouches for £6.95 + VAT. That makes the Viking Direct price of £17.99 a box a serious rip-off.
However if you buy the 3 boxes from them at £53.97 compared to the GLS price of £20.85, that means you are paying £33.12 for the `free` laminator. It`s quite a decent machine which is hard to buy on its own for less than £60 ... they run very hot and a rubbish machine won`t last. Also, you musn`t lose sight of the plus VAT.
So, I`m still tempted - but it aint `free`!

RE: Epson C44 Plus Printer ?34.99 @ Currys .

I bought a C44 today in Dixons in the new Bull Ring centre in Birmingham. £29.99 including a USB lead. I needed it to do a job on my Mac and it installed easily and runs well.

RE: The Lion King (Special Edition) - I`ve been hunting for the best deal

I needed a text book, so I went to Amazon and got it price £11.99. I fancied the Lion King DVD to start the kids Xmas shopping going and the Amazon price was OK. So I got free shipping and for no good reason at all they put in a `promotional gift certificate` for £3.53. net effect - total spend £24.45 means I got the Lion King for £12.46. Obviously you`ve got to want something else AND be lucky. But I did and was! 8)
