Free A4 Laminator when you buy 3 packs of Laminating Pouches...and other offers

Hi
I was after an A4 Laminating Machine and searched around and found viking-direct were giving you one free, if you bought 3 packs of their laminating pouches. The make and model is Rexel LV250 A4 Laminator. At the Check Out, it stated the full prices of the items. The pouches should have been £29.95 per pack which I got for £63.41 and the laminator should have been £149.95(rrp) which I got for FREE. The total savings were about £185. I did a search and the cheapest I could find it was about £109, without pouches. I reckon it was a great bargain, so if you want one go to
Viking-Direct

Cheers

Hi, bought an A4 laminator for £24.99 with free pouches in the Port arcades Ellesmere Port. 25 pouches for £5.00 if you want more. An A3 laminator is the ting to go for for £100+ surely.

I use a lot of lamination stuff and I buy good quality pouches from GLS Education supplies (account only I`m afraid). They sell 100 A4 150 micron pouches for £6.95 + VAT. That makes the Viking Direct price of £17.99 a box a serious rip-off.
However if you buy the 3 boxes from them at £53.97 compared to the GLS price of £20.85, that means you are paying £33.12 for the `free` laminator. It`s quite a decent machine which is hard to buy on its own for less than £60 ... they run very hot and a rubbish machine won`t last. Also, you musn`t lose sight of the plus VAT.
So, I`m still tempted - but it aint `free`!

I don`t want to rain on your parade, but I used to sell the LV250 for £49.99 & currently sell the replacement model (LV250HS) for £59.99. There is also a new, cheaper Rexel model (LV240) for only £29.99.

Viking Direct`s price is not too bad if you require all those pouches though.

What i don`t like about VD is that the sale price for these items is just around £10.99!

IE, you can buy them for £10.99 and get no laminator or buy at £17.99 and get a free laminator.

Therefore the laminator is not free cos you have to pay another £21 for the pouches over their standard sale price to get it!

A money saving tip with VD!! ALWAYS ask call and ask for their best sale price and ask for the prefix code (such as A21) the prefixed 1 letter and 2 number code identifies the price you pay!

They issue SALE catalogue to those who don`t order regularly which can be up to 50% less than std pricing!

Also, always ask for the largest break price, the more you buy can also save you money!

If you buy a lot of lamination pouches try www.laminationpouches.co.uk - they are selling good quality A4 150 micron pouches for £50 per 1000 - yes 1000 - + v.a.t.

I always buy mine from theconsortium.co.uk. Like GLS they are an education products supplier so the quality is good. They deliver free, next day if you want it, and are very reliable, but most importantly you can pay by credit card on the website.
