NTL and a wireless router

Hey guys

I wonder if anyone can help. A relative has just brought a Dynamond wireless router, for use on NTL broadband.

After following the instructions to the letter, everything seems to work fine for a few hours, at which time the internet gets disconnected, and are unable to reconnect to the internet.

A simple call to NTL should sort idea, yes? NO, the hotline said that the broadband has little pauses, which causes the internet to disconnect, and the router stops the connection being made again.

Is this true? Has anyone else had this problem? I`m very dubious of NTL after a previous bad experience

Thanks for any help

Is my 2nd hard drive knackered???

Hey guys
I wonder if anyone out there could answer a quick question. I`ve just been given a 40gb IBM deskstar hard drive, to be used as a second drive on my pc. I installed it last night (correct jump settings et all,as the primary slave) and copied some data across onto it. This morning i have to boot my pc, only to be met with an "Invalid Boot Disk" error message. Upon start up the primary master is not found! I removed the newly installed hard drive and the pc boots up fine. I have now just put the drive into a caddy, and when it is powered up, the drive makes a noise like a "slipping record". Is my drive knackered???

Thanks in advance for any help

Video Tones On A Nokia 6260

Hey guys

I wonder if anyone can help me. I`ve just brought a Nokia 6260 and have been looking at all the sites offering ringtones etc. A few of them quote that the 6260 can do videotones. I`ve brought a bluetooth dongle so i can transfer from my pc to my phone. So my queries are:

1 - Does the Nokia 6260 support videotones???
2 - What format do i need??? (read somewhere its .3gp)
3 - How do you set it up on the phone??

I know its a lot of questions, but any help would be gratefully recieved from any of you clever people.

Cheers in advance

RE: Help needed on Customs

Hi

I`m pretty new to buying R1 dvds and wondered if anyone could help me!

I`m trying to buy season 4 of CSI, it seems the best prices are either play.com or loaded247.com. Both sites advertise free delivery, so far both are equal. Play have it for £26.99 and Loaded is £29.99. However I have been told that over a certain cost price, a tax is applied. How much is this? Will this apply to both of these companies??

If anyone can help, it will be very much appreciated

Cheers

RE: My DVD player won`t play my home-made DVDs

Sorry to send out a blank message, its late, im tired and being a bit thick!!!

What i should have said is...........................

Hi all in DVD land

I wonder if anyone could help a DVD novice, I have put some of my home movies (nothing dodgy!!) onto writeable DVDs. However, when i try to play them on my player (Goodmans GDVD124) it acts like there is nothing in the tray!! >:(

I am using Nero software to write onto the discs, and am using DataWrite Yellow DVDs.

I have read somewhere that the colour of the underside of the disc affects DVD players, is this true?? (these discs are red). If this is true, is there any way of making the player read red discs?

I hope that makes sense to someone out there because i have lots of discs i cant play!

Thanks in advance for any help!!

CD999.co.uk - Anyone used it???

Whilst randomly surfing through online retailers, I came across this site and they had some pretty decent stuff at good prices. But I`ve not heard of them before, are they any good/reliable???

Cheers

RE: Are Bond DVDs coming later this year?

My sources are saying that the Living Daylights DVD will be released in September, as the company who were holding the rights, the contract has almost expired!!

It wouldn`t surprise me if the other Bond titles were made available again around this time, maybe make MGM a little more cash!

Hope that helps

RE: Star Trek Enterprise Series 2 - on DVD only?

I work in the Retail sector, and my sources are saying that it will be coming out only on DVD, due to the poor sales of the first series. The first series is due to be deleted in the very near future!!!

RE: M*A*S*H Series 1 Boxet Query!!

Sorry, having a little trouble working this thing! I`ll try again!!

Hey Lads & Lasses

I wonder if any of you DVD experts can help me with my problem??

I have brought the Region 2 version of M*A*S*H series 1, and am trying to play it through my Goodmans GDVD124, however there is no English soundtrack available after the first episode, only French! (where the English should be, is no sound at all) I have tried altering the audio set-up on both the DVD player and also the DVD itself, but to no luck!

Although when i play this boxset through my parents Phillips DVD640 or my PC, i have full english speech!

Now, I know the simple answer would be to play it through the later two machines, but I have the Goodmans linked to my widescreen in my room.

This is a bit of an annoyance, so any help or advice would be gratefull received!! Cheers
