RE: 7" Portable dvd player £89.99 Argos
I got one of these about a month ago when it was £99. It works pretty well, supports vcd, svcd, dvd-r (havent tried + or rw). The picture is great straight on, but poor if vertical angle is out by about 10 degrees or more, the picture is ok to maybe 40 degrees horizontal, but obviously not as good as straight on. It has two headphone sockets which is useful I guess.
I haven`t had a chance to test out the battery, I have read on other forums that 2 hours is a little optimistic, but don`t know myself.
Comes with everything you could ever need:- carry case, mains and 12v adaptor, battery/charger, headphones, a/v in/out connector, scart adaptor, headrest mounting straps.
One critisism is that changing the discs isn`t easy when it is in the carry case, since the webbing holding the player in covers the lid, to do it properly involves sliding the player out of the case. We just lift it a 1/4 and slide the disc in and out, it is more likely that damage will occur either to the disc or the player this way though.
I think it was a very good buy (even though these will be £50 in six months time), anything that keeps the kids quiet and entertained on long journeys gets my vote.
RE: 128mb Mp3 Player £21.14
Good spot, ordered one of these as an xmas present, got an led keyring for 1 pence as well!
Looks like the `3` or whatever remaining is just marketing bullsh*t, it got down to 0 about 20 mins ago, now there are another 14. Still, made me buy it quickly :/
Wireless Video Link £29.99 @ Maplin
Cheapest I have seen one of these previously was £39.99 so looks like a bargain, plus get a second receiver for £19.99 if bought together.
Think you can also get £5 off if you spend over £50 (just subscribe to the newsletter, then put your e-mail address in at order time)
RE: Nokia 3410`s
Can`t say I`m a big fan of ebay profiteers, but fair play to Dusty he`s come up with the goods on numerous bargains in the past, perhaps Arthur wasn`t to know Dusty`s track record.

RE: Cheap Rechargeable Batteries!
Worcester this morning also had loads, but had none the other evening, probably best to go to in the morning after the night shift shelf stackers have done their work.
RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast
Pat, sorry to hear you didn`t get the kit you ordered, I`d just like to say thanks for posting this link originally, I`ve just received a cracking little sony micro system, for 40 quid its an absolute bargain.
RE: 3 dvds for 6.99-7.99 at Matalan
Oops my mistake they ARE videos.
3 dvds for 6.99-7.99 at Matalan
These caught my eye at the checkout in the local store (Malvern) today, seem to be 3 dvds in one pack.
eg
american pie uncut, road trip + one other (can`t remember)
Notting hill, about a boy, +one other
quite a few other combinations.
RE: Fully loaded divx etc..DVD player with VGA for £129
Amazon have the Yamada 6100 at £79.99, looks as good if not a better deal.
Seems to get good reviews...
Just noticed this was posted a couple of weeks back, so credit to the original poster.

RE: Broadband Offers
I`ve always been with pipex, no complaints.
£17.57 setup fee, including modem and microfilters can`t be bad (I had to pay nearly 150 quid 18 months ago)
Monthly costs are £23.44, other isps may be slightly cheaper, but probably cost more to get started.
RE: Nintendo Gamecube: God loves the drunk and Ignorant
What makes this even more of a bargain is that the zelda limited edition game is selling for about £40 on ebay, offload this and you`ve got a GC and mario kart DD for £40!
RE: Quality AV cables pretty cheap!
I use farnell directly (www.farnell.co.uk) they have free next day delivery, only downside is there is a minimum order value of £10 (I did manage to get away with a £7 order somehow). The web site isn`t that pretty, they are more geared up as a trade electronics/electrical distributor, but as such the prices are very low compared to the average retailer.
RE: Viking Leather Backed Chair @ 29.99 Episode 2
Got mine today, took ten minutes to put together, and is much more comfortable than my Staples leather look chair that cost £50. TV radio is OK too, not much use for it at the moment, but hey... it`s free.
Thanks for the recommendations everyone.
RE: Viking Leather Backed Chair @ 29.99 Episode 2
The order code for it is Y29-PRDESIGNTV
RE: Viking Leather Backed Chair @ 29.99 Episode 2
The TV offer was there last night, on the home page, but it is not there now?!
RE: Viking Leather Backed Chair @ 29.99 Episode 2
Free TV/radio offer is back on, ordered this chair plus a pencil sharpener to make the order up to 30 ex vat (free delivery was OK at 29.99, but for free TV has to be 30 or over).
Hope I haven`t condemned myself to viking junk mail hell!
RE: Cheap digital camera
Novatech have a 2.1 MP for 50 quid, I got the premier 2.1 3x optical from amazon a couple of weeks back for 100 notes, nice little camera, but you have to spend another 40 quid or so for memory+ decent batteries.
RE: Request: If anyone knows a good deal on 21" monitors...
I think you will be lucky to pick up a new 21" for less than £400, Do you really need one, I`ve got a 19" at home and a 21" at work, and the difference aint worth paying much for- IMHO. You can get a basic 19 inch for about £130.
MORE Free Cat/Dog food
Thanks for the link, haven`t received anything yet though, but how about this: http://www.petproject.co.uk/default.htm
Cyberhome 402 @ £57 from novatech
Saw your discussions on the 400, though you might like to know about this also, not sure how they rate compared to all the other ~£50 quid players, that said I bought one of these last year when they were £80 and I have to say it is spot on for just about everything (apart from the annoying thing where it won`t wake up from standby without the remote).
