RE: dvdi.co.uk & dvdsource.co.uk - anyone had any dealings?

About a month ago, I placed an order for two CDs (good prices) with dvdi, and so far they`ve only sent one (which was wrong) - they won`t reply to my emails about returning this, or about when I can expect delivery of the other disk, so can I ask if anyone has a phone number for them? Nothing listed on their "contact details" on their website! >:(

Thanxalot.

RE: DVDSoon.com - an offer for those without the Fidelity Card

Sounds like a very generous offer to me, so would you be able to order the "Godfather Collection" box set for me? I assume DVDSoon are still the cheapest outlet for this?

RE: Are Splash now Blah?

Well, having lost the grand sum of £5.98 thru Splash going under,
I`ve taken a very cautious approach with Blah - so far, I`ve only
ordered one CD, and I`m glad to report that it took under a week
to arrive. So far, so good, then. :p

I`ve yet to use the £2 off (£10 mov), and £5 off (£30 mov) vouchers
they`ve sent me, but I plan to fairly soon, we will report back on
how things go with these additional orders.

Good to see you here too, but as chance would have it, I`m totally p*ss*d off with
waiting almost SIX MONTHS for three CD`s which were advertised as having 1-3
weeks delivery time.

I`m actually telling D*wn to cancel these orders today, with the feedback that you`ve
had my money for all that time, and, you need to take a serious look at the
performance of some of your suppliers.

Don`t think I`ll be back, no matter how good your prices are!!

RE: Splash - should be shut down

Well, so far I`ve resisted posting negative stuff about Splash, but as I`ve now been
waiting over 12 WEEKS for four CD`s (all on the "Kent" label) from them, I`ve really
reached the stage of asking myself if it`s worth the hassle to save a few quid here
and there. Still, at least they sent me a detailed e-mail reply re. order status -
couldn`t be *rsed with queueing on the blower!!

As for the BPI trying to shut down the likes of CDWow .. hope it never happens,
`cos they are such a pleasure to deal with (not withstanding voucher availability!!).

RE: Cd-wow... `Gold Member`

Me too ... but what`s happened to all the special `discounts`
(a.k.a. vouchers) which were available fairly recently? Or is
it a case of "all good things must come to an end"?? :(

Cheers ... Dougie

RE: £3 off at CD Wow

Hmm ... have tried cut and paste on the link provided, and it
won`t work (i.e. only "normal" prices are displayed) - can
anyone tell me what I`m doing wrong, or, has the deal now
been closed off??

Cheers,

RE: Cd Wow even more WOW !

Found the £3 off (first direct) discussion OK, but when I clicked on the discount link CD-Wow sent me, only the `normal` prices appeared - is there another way to go about it?

RE: Cd Wow even more WOW !

Have to agree that they`re hard to fault - are there any money off links or other discounts available at present? Need to get
"Once Upon A Time In America" on DVD a.s.a.p.!!

RE: What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

Took my tower back into the local supplier, and the monitor he hooked it up to it worked fine (i.e., the orange/red colours
displayed as you would expect).

So, it does indeed look like the monitor`s the problem - the guy on the Gateway helpline reckons it`s something to do with the "red gun" being goosed.

No doubt it`ll be just as cheap to replace than repair, so anyone got any suggestions on where to buy discounted monitors
on-line (new, not re-furbished or second-hand)?

Cheers,

RE: What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

JMO,

I believe I tried all possible routes via Advanced Colour Mgmt.,
but if there are any "tricks" you know of, I`m all ears.

As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating indeed ...
being unable to print CD covers is driving me nuts!! :-(

RE: What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

Good suggestion, Nick, but unfortunately I don`t have any spare monitors to hand. ;^)

RE: What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

Thanks for your further input, JMO, but I`ve already tried the "color management" tab, and was unable to find anything there which enabled me to fix the g*d*mn problem - in fact, even when displaying the True Color (32 Bit) bar, the orangey/red colours are still missing!! Aaargh!!

I`m glad to hear that you think it`s nothing to do with the monitor or graphics card (I was thinking that way myself), so any more suggestions as to where/how I can make any additional tweaks?

This is really p*ss*ng me off BIGTIME!!

All the best,

- Dougie

RE: What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

Thanks for the suggestions so far, but I think I`ve tried all of the obvious things to resolve this (incl. checking the cabling and connections) - also,
should have said that what displays on the screen w/out orange/red
colours, is what prints out (hence, CD covers are total cr*p!!).

So, from what`s been said so far, do I take it there`s nothing actually wrong with the graphics card? Or the drivers?

FWIW, the PC was bought (new) locally in Feb. last year, and is only used for a few hours each week.

Keep `em suggestions coming!!!! ;-)

What`s happened to orange & red on my PC?

I`m seeking help with what I believe to be a very unusual problem I`ve been saddled with for a few weeks now - per the subject line, my
computer has stopped displaying any orange-y & red colours!!

Now, I`ve tried everything I can think of in terms of adjusting the colour
mgmt. via the ctrl. panel, etc., but so far without success - could it be
something to do with the graphics card (SiS 630/730)?

Any other inputs would be most welcome, as this is starting to drive me
nuts (e.g. unable to print off CD/DVD covers).

Ta muchly,

- Dougie
