Oh dear, Parcelflash seem to have gone down.....

Please note that as of 17:30 today (02/06/05), all UK collections and deliveries only have been suspended, however all bookings made prior to this will still be completed

Any other ideas for bargain carriers?

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT use parcel2go EVER.

Try parcelforce themselves - I think they would be your cheapest option.

How does the staples one work?

There`s nothing about it on their site. Do I bring them a big package and tell them where to send it? What`s the costing plan?

With huge items, its often worth ringing local removal companies to see if they have got a half full van going near the destination address.

Our oxfordshire office wanted to send a safe to scotland. We were getting quotes for more than the safe was worth, so we rang a removal company who took it for 80 quid. Had to wait a few weeks, but it got there in the end.
