HKFlix.com - AVOID

I used to champion HKFlix.com in the past, but no longer. They have become the WORST online store I`ve ever encountered. Several times I`ve ordered Items and waited months, only to be told after enquiring by e-mail that the items are out of stock!. They are a total waste of time - avoid!

RE: DDDhouse

When I`m looking for Asian movies, DDDhouse is always the first place I look.
Their prices are the cheapest, their range is excellent, and they constantly update their inventory. Every time I`ve sent an e-mail enquiry, they have answered in a couple of days. in terns of delivery (to the U.K) I usually recieve items I`ve ordered in around a week - but I once got an order delivered in an incredible 4 days!.

I can`t praise this store highly enough!.

Kurosawa DVD`s at HKFlix.com

Several Akira Kurosawa DVD`s by the Hong Kong based distributor Meh-Ah are on sale at HKFlix.com at $5.95 (U.S Dollars). Titles include Seven samurai, Yojimbo, Ikiru and Throne of Blood.

I`d definitely recommend HKFlix. Postage takes about 3 weeks - but is only $1.95 (U.S) per disc - that works out at each title costing around £4.70!.

The translation on the english subtitles can be a little `unusual` at times, but they are still a bargain, specially when the few BFI releases of these movies cost £15 to £20.

Only ever had one problem with HKFlix, when they sent a disc in error, but after e-mailing them they swiflty sent a replacement.

Aside from the sale stuff, they have a massive range of movies from the far east.
Well worth a look!.

RE: R3 Battle Royale DTS £4.27

I think your`e being a little harsh on Mei-Ah`s Kurosawa DVD`s. I bought the Meh ah `Seven Samurai` from HkFlix.com & was pleased with the picture & sound quality. The only debating point on whether you spend more buying the £19.99 BFI version are the subtitles, which are at times are poorly translated. This however did not damage my enjoyment of the movie. One question about DDD house - is their website regularly so buggy - it crashed several times while I was viewing their sale items & was very slow loading pages at other times.

RE: Play.com....any good?

They deliver in around three to five days (not including weekends). They don`t send an e-mail confirmation, but you can keep track of your order in your account page.
Their prices are low especially as they offer free postage on all items.
Another reason for shopping at Play.com is their selection of region 1 titles
