Kurosawa DVD`s at HKFlix.com

Several Akira Kurosawa DVD`s by the Hong Kong based distributor Meh-Ah are on sale at HKFlix.com at $5.95 (U.S Dollars). Titles include Seven samurai, Yojimbo, Ikiru and Throne of Blood.

I`d definitely recommend HKFlix. Postage takes about 3 weeks - but is only $1.95 (U.S) per disc - that works out at each title costing around £4.70!.

The translation on the english subtitles can be a little `unusual` at times, but they are still a bargain, specially when the few BFI releases of these movies cost £15 to £20.

Only ever had one problem with HKFlix, when they sent a disc in error, but after e-mailing them they swiflty sent a replacement.

Aside from the sale stuff, they have a massive range of movies from the far east.
Well worth a look!.

Hi,

www.DDDHouse.com also have a number of Kurosawa films in their sale. I just picked up Seven Samurai, Yojimbo and The Throne of Blood for $145HK (£11.17) including shipping to UK!

Matt.

These dvds are of really crap quality. You might as well throw your money away. The BFI versions are quite good and worth purchasing. When you see how awful the picture is on these dvds, you will think that its an insult calling it a dvd.

Sorry, the name always reminds me of the lines:

"Like Kurosawa I make mad films,
Okay I don`t make films
But if I did they`ve have a Samurai"

I do agree with Dicanio though - the quality is crap (my mate has some - and is not too impressed)
