RE: PS3 error 80010514

Strange, but I got this the other day as well after I tried to load a new copy of Gran Tourismo Prologue.

I did loads of searches online and there appears to be a difference of opinion as to what the fault is. Some say it`s the Blu-Ray drive failing and others say it`s software related.

Like you, I reset my PS3 back to factory defaults, but this had no affect on the loading of GTP - still the same error. Strangely, my PS3 plays DVD`s, Blu-Ray films, CD`s and PS2 and PS3 games, but just won`t accept GT Prologue.

My gut feeling (not that I`m an expert on all things PS3) is that it`s either the discs that were used during the production, or is software related (PS3 Software), even though I`m running the latest PS3 Software.

Like everyone else, it`s annoying that Sony haven`t heard of this error, as it`s not listed anywhere on the Playstation Website.

Sorry not much help, but I`m also interested in how I can get rid of this error message. Luckily I have a second PS3 I could try the game on, so I`ll try that at some point soon.

RE: benefit fraud.. steel £16385 pay it back .......£3.75 a WEEK

Don`t you just love the fact that at £3.75 a week, it will take just over 84 years to pay back. She`s only 35 now - I make that 119 years of age before she pays it back......bless her.

Any Charity Appeals or Charity Songs due out to help her pay it back?

RE: 24 Redemption HD Recorded on Sky HD Query

Thanks for the advice Jimbo. I`ve run the Planner Rebuild about 5 times and spoken to Sky for about 30 minutes and got absolutely nowhere.

I`ve decided to delete the programme and try recording more stuff and see if the problem starts again.

Off to BitTorrent I go......thanks all for your advice

RE: 24 Redemption HD Recorded on Sky HD Query

Thanks Bullitt79 - I did wonder if it was corrupted, but normally get Failed when I have a corrupted download.

24 Redemption HD Recorded on Sky HD Query

Ok, slightly new to this Sky HD thingy, but can anyone shed any light on a small issue I have.

I recorded 24:Redemption on my relatively new Sky HD Box (1 month old) on the 5th January. I recorded the previous programme as well (24 in 24 which takes you through the history and background of 24).

The problem is, the 24 in 24 programme (also recorded in HD) plays perfectly, but each time I try to watch the 24:Redemption recording, it allows me to select to play from the Start, type in a time to start from or watch the end of the recording, but will not allow the Select Button to start the programme off. The little Red Light on the remote is reacting when I press the remote buttons - but it will not play this programme. All other recordings work correctly.

Any ideas amongst any of you?

Thanks to anyone who can help

RE: What`s the best biscuit?

I haven`t seen it mentioned yet, but I loved Gypsy Creams before they disappeared.

I`ve only seen them once in the past couple of years in the local corner shop, covered in dust and all soft (probably out of date) - but they still tasted nice....lol

If I can`t find them, then it has to be a Milk Chocolate Hob Nob

RE: POLL: favorite biscuits oof all time

I`d have to recommend Gypsy Creams - they used to be my favourites, but I can`t seem to find them anywhere now.

RE: Top Gear Episode Question - Help me find a certain episode

To true. Well, I think it might be Season 1 episode 5......BitTorrent, here I come

RE: Top Gear Episode Question - Help me find a certain episode

Thanks Bowfer, I`ll check out the Website - again

Top Gear Episode Question - Help me find a certain episode

Wifey and I were discussing Top Gear the other day, whilst watching the re-runs on UK TV Gold 2. The one they were showing was the Caravan Holiday, one that we laughed at uncontrollably first time.

As the conversation went on, we remembered the one where Jeremy Clarkson was driving a big car (not sure which) and pulled up outside a Stately Home. He then preceeded to try to program his mobile phone to dial his Manager for the next few hours. Each time he spoke a number, the cars mobile phone dialled a different number causing him no end of stress and my wife and I to cry uncontrollably with laughter.

Questions are folks:-
1. Which episode was this?
2. Which car was he in?

Any help anyone can give us would be apprecaited, cause no matter how many Top Gear repeats we watch, we`ve not seen this one again and want to so much. I have checked the Top Gear Website, but still can`t see the one I want....guess I need to know what else was in the program to locate it?

RE: Help solve this puzzle please

Well, after passing on the suggestion about breaking the walking stick in half and making two halfs....two halfs make a whole etc she was presented with the first prize.......a blooming Twix Snack Bar......and the small, half size, one stick bar - not even the two bar full size jobby.

So much for education nowadays - bring back slates and chalk I say.

Thanks everyone for your contributions......and thanks again for telling me that I`m crap at English, Spelling and Grammar - you can see what my education was like?

RE: Help solve this puzzle please

That was my thought. We`ve had the usual:
Digs his way out with his walking stick
Digs his way out with his false teeth
And stuff like that, but no good so far.

Help solve this puzzle please

My step daughters school class have requested answers to the following puzzle.

An old man with a walking stick is placed in a concrete cube. How does he escape?

Allegedly there`s only one person in her class that knows the answer, so she`s desperate to work it out ASAP.
Any help anyone can give us would be appreciated.

Thanks guys n gals

P.S - If I find out the right answer, I`ll post the info back here.

PS3 Games and Controller for £29.99 each

Just been trawling through play.com website and spotted these little bargains. They might be of use to someone:

www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/3-/3771/2-/Promo.html?page=promo

They are listing the following, all at £29.99 each:
Resistance - Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Ridge Racer 7
Full Auto 2 - Battlelines
Hori Fighting Stick 3

Not a bad choice

Enjoy

RE: HDMI Connections for PS3 and Sky HD

Thanks Ratopall - I wondered if something like that existed. Kinda steep pricing though for a Spliter Box. Maybe it`s a little more `technical` than the same thing used by Scart Boxes?

RE: Acoustic Solutions 7" Twin Screen DVD Player - £79.99

Hi Bob. Each monitor has its own headphone socket and headphone are provided as well

RE: Acoustic Solutions 7" Twin Screen DVD Player - £79.99

Thanks OP - bagged one of these at the weekend.

I managed to get the Venturer Twin Screen when it was reduced, but have to say that the Accoustic Solutions one is better because it comes with a Mains Connector as Standard - which the Venturer one didn`t. This`ll keep the kids quiet on holiday now, as well as in the car.

HDMI Connections for PS3 and Sky HD

I`ve just gone out and ordered the New PS3 - which I believe I can connect to my Samsung 42" Plasma HDTV with a HDMI Cable?

My query is, if I decide to subscribe to Sky HD later this year, is the connection HDMI as well, as my Samsung Plasma only has 1 HDMI slot?

As a side note for all you techies who can answer this question, I currently have Sky+ connected via a Scart Socket, and an XBox 360 connected by the normal XBox 360 Connections - so the HD Connections being used by the XBox 360 are not available.

Is there something like a HDMI splitter, so you can connect 2 into 1 - like Scart does?

Ta very muchly

Choices UK have all the 24 Boxsets for £17.95 each as well......however, due to the wonders of sharing Voucher Codes, by entering BEST10 in at the Checkout, you can actually get them for £16.15 each.

NBA2K6 and NHL2K6 for XBox 360 - £9.99 each

I managed to bag these two instore yesterday at Toys R Us (Stevenage) for £9.99 each, but notice that NBA2K6 is on the Toys R Us Website for the same price.

They also have Amped for £9.99 as well.

Might be of interest to someone?

Battlestar Galactica - Season 1 - £12.99

I managed to bag myself a complete season 1 of Battlestar Galactica Boxset for £12.99 at Virgin Megastore on Stevenage yesterday. There were several dotted around the shop with different prices (£17.99 and £49.99) but the bulk near the counters were all labled at £12.99.

According to the Virgin Website, the cost is £17.99 - however, they certainly had at least 10 others labled at £12.99.

Not sure if this is Nationwide - but enjoy if you want it and can get it.

Hells Kitchen USA

Hi Guys n Gals. I was watching season 2 of Hells Kitchen USA on ITV 2 last night, and was wondering if anyone could help answer a question - The winner or Season (Michael) was offered the chance to work with Gordon Ramsey at his restaurant in the UK, which he accepted, but I was wondering what happened to him after this training and whether he actually got his restaurant?

Thanks to anyone who can help, as there`s nothing on the Fox TV/Hells Kitchen Website.

RE: VIP Parking at Heathrow - Good Value!!

Funny you mentioning Tesco`s Car Park - that was mentioned on the programme as well.....along with confetti from a wedding being in someone`s car, severe damage to someones car on the way to the Car Park.....cool !!!

RE: VIP Parking at Heathrow - Good Value!!

There was a program on TV a couple of days ago about some Car Parking companies that `move` your vehicle from Compound to Compound. On one occassion it was 12 miles from where it was collected and didn`t appear to have very good security monitoring, and was actually a locked compound on an Industrial Estate.

The T&C`s on this site state that they `may move your vehicle` during it`s stay with them.

Might be worth checking more if this company is reputable as I don`t know them personally.

RE: LG-U890 on 3 for £4.99 for 12 months then £17.50 for 6 months (Loads of free calls and texts inc

No problem NiteOwl. I believe that the 3 staff within the Stevenage Store receive commision from 3. so I would guess they are employees of 3. Why not call the Stevenage Store and ask them about the offer and see if they can ring through to your local branch?

My mother in law (bless her) came down to Stevenage from Burnley, but was told that the offer was on in all Superdrug Stores, and she could cash her vouchers in Burnley.

Worth a try?

RE: LG-U890 on 3 for £4.99 for 12 months then £17.50 for 6 months (Loads of free calls and texts inc

Hi NiteOwl. I`ve just been into the Superdrug Store in Stevenage and cashed in my first 2 vouchers (£150.12 for the first 6 months) and collected my new vouchers to cash in again in 6 months time for £360.24.

I asked the Sale Rep, and she informed me that the Offer is a deal between Superdrug and 3 - and should be available from all stores. Might be worth getting your local store to call the 3 Rep at Stevenage and confirm the deal?

They did do other phone on £9.99 a month deals, but none with all the extras mentioned previously.

The Contract on 3 is their £35 a month contract. Superdrug did have that deal on half price (eg. £17.50 a month) but they then had a Special Promotion of £4.99 a month, that was supposed to end at the beginning of June, but is still running and they have not been told to end the deal, as it`s still selling well.

Hope this helps?

RE: England rugby shirts for £5

Thanks OP - that`s my mates Xmas Pressie sorted.
