RE: Anyone got a Manhattan Ultra-Slim USL-2?

Could you give me the online address of the stores that sell either the Manhattan with Macro unlocked or a separate chip for conversion?

RE: Anyone got a Manhattan Ultra-Slim USL-2?

I have been advised by an informed source that Macrovision on this new Manhattan, unlike the previous ones, is not user-hackable. This is a real shame, (a) because the player would have otherwise been an excellent buy and (b) because this make was one of the last bastions of resistance to the expanding prevalence of Macrovision. However, if you find otherwise, please inform me on this forum.

RE: Anyone got a Manhattan Ultra-Slim USL-2?

So, what`s the news?
Has anybody tried the proposed MACRO hack and with what results?
Given the positive reviews and the multiregion capability, if this hack works it would make this player one of the best buys in its category.

RE: Anyone got a Manhattan Ultra-Slim USL-2?

Before buying you might also want to check picture quality, as previous Manhattans, including the SL-1, weren`t very good in this respect. Please let us know what you find since, after removal of the Macrovision, this is the only remaining point of concern.

RE: Anyone got a Manhattan Ultra-Slim USL-2?

Thanks for the useful info. Any Macro hack details? Earlier Manhattan models used to allow its deactivation, e.g. at the same time that it was made multiregion.

RE: Any Hacks/help for my Toshiba SD-220E?

Hi Gyunkman

Does the hack also disable Macrovision? What can be done about that?

RE: does anyone know any hacks for the toshiba sd220e

Hi bunju,
Did you get any clear info on turning off macrovision for the Toshiba 220E?
Though this was your original question, I`ve followed through the 73 replies (so far) and I`m still not clear whether and how you can turn off macrovision, as opposed to multiregioning which seems to have got in the way.

Is there a macrovision hack for a multi-region Toshiba 220E?

OK, Toshibas can`t be hacked from the remote, but provided I get a multi-region machine out of the box (possible in many parts of the world) which is the easiest way to hack macrovision?

Philips DVD723 v 743 advise please.

I am planning to buy one of the above two DVD players and would be grateful for any comments and advice regarding their video quality, ease of use and facilities.

RE: Getting frustrated trying to hack Samsung M105

Is there any progress on macrovision disabling? I have a chance of buying a Samsung M205 (should be similar to the M105) which is all-region out of the box, but first want to clarify whether macrovision can be disabled.

Macrovision hack wanted for the SILVER DV-888

I have the above obscure make of DVD player, which is multiregion from the box and I am trying to hack its macrovision. Probably the only chance would be if it is similar to a known model. Does anyone know anything about it?
