I asked the same question a week ago and got 2 sarcastic cryptic replies. If I could have found the hack easily on the site I wouldn` t have asked the question. I am not thick!

Is anybody willing to give us the hack or not?

Ditch the search facility and look through earlier threads. Trouble is, the hacks seem to be more trouble and cost than buying a multi-region version. That`s ok if you haven`t bought one yet, like me. I wanted to know if it were hackable before choosing to pay the man the extra.

Best of luck............

Thanks. I used that link and now my Player is region free! Do you know if this will work for those RCE (region contol enhanced) discs? Will my player still be able to play them?

Brookdale,

I had to search for ages after posting that question, but I found a link on a much older thread that can help you. It helped me out! Now my DVD is region free!

http://sd220e.chez.tiscali.fr/

You may need to download a free zip decompressor called WinAce (kinda like Winzip) to unzip the .rar file contained at the above site.

Once you`ve done all that you need to burn only the .cue file to a blank CD. I used NERO 5.5 and it worked fine. YOU MUST, however, use the Disk-At-Once option in the Burn Method section, other wise it will not work.

The first thing you need to do is load nero, goto the file menu and select Burn Image. From here you select the file and options I have just mentioned.

Once the CD is made, set your DVD option on your player to auto in the setup/picture menu.

Load the CD as you would any other DVD, let it play for about 10 Secs and that`s it! Region Free DVD!!

Let me know how you get on!

I appreciate the detailed advice. Glad it worked for you.

It will be a little while before I try it, but will post the result here.

Thanx

Gyunkman, I need your help!
Having tried all the sd220e hack methods suggested here a dozen times, I still can`t get the bloody thing hacked. My tv is a Tosh surround system, so no probs there with format; this must mean I am a f***wit who is incapable of hacking this myself.
Is there any chance you could repeat the process you did and make another disc and then mail it to me?
Obviously I`ll cover all costs(up front if necessary) for disc/time and would be really grateful.
Sorry if its a naff request, but right now I seem lost for options.
Cheers mate,
Chris aka Cooler King.
