RE: Free Jeep Off-Road Experience

Cheers.

I registered this morning and have just had a reply to say I made it.

Do you think everyone does? Just a way to get test drives at dealers?

Anyone know if it will be worth it or will I end up signing a 20k order on the day ! :o

Lower Driving Costs

Ok - not right now - but hopefully in the future - in as much as stopping this new proposed travel tax.

I have posted here because I know the wide audience it gets and how intelligent you all are (brown nosing never hurt no one!).

There are lots of press reports about it - here is one - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/11/05/nroad05.xml

Now please go to the government petition web site and please sign against this nonsense - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

Please forword these details to anyone else who drives.

The petition closes in Feb 2007 and as many signatures are needed as possible.

I got 3 yesterday in Northwich - they had about 30. Met two people I know walking around the store (one of them waorks there part-time) - as soon as they saw what I had they went to get some.

Told my work collegue this morning - he then went to same store and got the last one. He asked if they had anymore and they said no.

RE: Website Hosting (RM - please read)

I have never run out of bandwidth. It is a once-per-year invoice which I pay by cheque - so they have no means of charging me if I did. My site gets a large number of hits - not as much as this site though :) but bandwidth has never been a problem. Just pay for a higher package if that is an issue. £20 per year gives 1GB per month, £60 per year gives 30GB per month - what sort of site needs 30GB per month!!!! Don`t answer that ;)

EDIT. The Q&A Says this:
Q. How much is extra bandwidth and space?
A. If you need more bandwidth or disk space e-mail us to upgrade you to a higher plan. If you need more bandwidth or space than our highest plan offers please email selas[at]moc.ku.gnitsohbew for a custom plan.
EDIT

The FREE hosting you mention (there are loads of them) do not include MySql, PHP etc - add them and they charge and/or then start to restrict bandwidth.

PS. Whats the problem with helicopters - I think they are cool ;)

Website Hosting (RM - please read)

**** Not a `True` bargain in the sense that the price is not reduced from a previous price - but can Mods please not remove it until RM has read it - and anyone else needing good, cheap web hosting - Ta ****

Just been reading (as I always do) RM's latest bargain re Play discounts.

In one of his posts he mentions he doesn't have MySql, scripting or PHP on his hosting service and is looking to change.

Well, I have looked after a website for a youth group for a number of years. Went through the free hosting (with pop up ads of course) and eventually started paying for hosting 4 years ago. Two years ago I changed to a new company because the old one increased their prices by over 100%.

To cut a long story short (too late!!!) I use webhosting.uk AKA Redback Internet Services. I must say their service is excellent -- the price unbelievable -- and the spec of even the most basic package (at £19.99 a year) is more than what I use on my site. You have to include the cost of a domain name - but they can provide this if you want. To be honest - when I first tried them I did not expect a lot for £20 per year, happily I was proved wrong.

I have recommended them to 3 other people (one of them a manufacturing company) and all of them are happy with the service.

Redback Internet used to be based in Bradford but in April 2004 it was sold and all support calls (on an 0800 number!) are dealt with an foreign call centre - but I must say in the two times I have needed support in the last year - them came through with flying colours. The actual servers are all located in the USA.

RM - have a look.

No I don't get anything for the recommendation - just a very happy customer.

See what they offer here - webhosting.uk.com

If you are REALLY bored check out the website I maintain - it gives an idea of the speed of the servers - Northwich Air Cadets

RE: DVDSoon.com - 25% off all orders for ifidelity card holders

25% discount is only for the xmas sale. Normal discount is 5% plus 1% for each year you are a member up to max of 10%. Even so the initial saving for original poster pays for the membership. No idea what price they would put on customs form. I use dvdsoon - never had any problems with them.

RE: DVDOO - Several movies at 39Kr (£3.50)

Ok, well my Danish isn`t to hot. Looked at the sight - you have to register - which I guess I can figure out - can`t find a language button. But.....do they charge for delivery??

Cheap DVD`s

Hi gang - thought I would tell you about a site that I have just bought from. I wanted The Others - saw it on Ebay - bid and won - bid £10. The email from the seller had a web address on it. It is in Mayalsia - all the prices are in Malaysian Ringits - the Others (2 disc set - region 1 - NTSC) was 59RM - converts to £10.20 - included registered delivery from Malaysia! Paid via CC on Monday 15th July - got confirmation email with packet trace number - arrived Friday 19th! Thought it might be a dogey copy but it looks and plays perfectly - shrink wrapped box - 2 dvds inside box were individually shrink wrapped also. Although I paid 59RM via Ebay, the site lists all the DVD`s at 47RM (about £8 !!). Saw previous sales on eBay froim same seller and the single disc The Others was going for £8. Check the seller out on Ebay - sellers ID Amporium - check out the web site - EDITED : YO HO HO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM !!!
I think all the DVDs they have are NTSC - got myself a Dansai from Tesco as a result of reading previous posts - so no probs there!
