RE: Converting Mini Discs into MP3`s / WAV`s

Well I`m not sure what version of Musicmatch it is.... I don`t think its `jukebox plus` I downloaded it about two years ago and never upgraded. It lets me use line in but the playback on the album length MP3`s tends to skip. Perhaps I`ll try to convert to WAV instead but hard idsk space is desperately low! I`ll keep you posted how it goes.

RE: Converting Mini Discs into MP3`s / WAV`s

Finally got round to giving this a whirl this weekend. And whilst the quality was good, I did experience some problems. I used my personal MD player and connected it to line in on the PC, used musicmatch and set the MP3 level at 160bitrate. It worked fine for individual tracks but I tried to be a cocky bleeder and shove whole albums on a single mp3. Again the sound was good quality yet on playback there were frequent `jumps` in the music like it was skipping. The only reason I can put to this is that I was using the PC for surfing and other stuff whilst recording to Musicmatch and as a result recording performance might start to dip. Can anyone advise please?

RE: dvdsoon.com - Great prices and NOT SO great service!

I`m thinking of using the $150 = Free Shipping deal from DVDSoon but I would like to know just how customs friendly they are as I`m thinking of getting 2 boxsets and a regular DVD? Has anyone used the free shipping offer before? If so do they send each item seperately or in one go (ie making a customs sting more likely)? Is it possible to get them to send the orders seperately AND still qualify for the free shipping. Bit of a pain really as the release dates are about a month apart and don`t want to wait that long to receive all 3.

Bit of a shame about them charging your card straight away but at those prices you can`t complain!

RE: Fave song ever..

Waterfall - The Stone Roses
Autobahn - Kraftwerk
Always Crashing The Same Car - David Bowie

RE: Converting Mini Discs into MP3`s / WAV`s

Sound card with a digital input, how much would one of those bad boys cost?? Please don`t say in the hundreds!!

RE: Converting Mini Discs into MP3`s / WAV`s

Cheers Paul! I`ve got Music Match so I`ll give it a whirl!

Converting Mini Discs into MP3`s / WAV`s

I`m no technical whizz kid but can this be done? I`ve a raft of mini discs and I`d like to burn some of them onto CD..... is it possible? If so, how?

Cheers!

Royal Tenenbaums Shipped already!!!

Just had an e-mail off CD-Wow to say that the above has shipped. Can`t remember the actual release date but I think it was July sometime. Should be here for Saturday....so I`ll have something to save me from Wim-boredom on the TV.

Cheap Deal for Kubrick fans!

Managed to bag Kubrick`s early films Killer`s Kiss, The Killing and Paths of Glory on Region 1 for £24 (inc. p+p) from www.playcentric.com. Packaging costs a bit but if you stick in the money off reward code from dvdpricecheck it discounts approximately the cost of your p+p.

RE: Star wars and Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD?????

Hope this ain`t breaking forum rules but how much did the Star Wars Trilogy cost you? And what was the packaging like?

RE: play that funky music white boy

Just go and buy anything by Sly and the Family Stone.

Alternatively if you like the funky 70`s stuff but with a modern twist then try David Holmes `Come Get It, I Got It` (just picked this up for £6.49 on CD-WOW) and DJ Shadow / Cut Chemist `Brainfreeze` (the latter is so funky it hurts!). These two albums are compilations of lost 60`s/70`s funky soul gems all mixed up in a hip hop stylee.

RE: Music recommendations required...

If you like Radiohead then Elbow (`Asleep at the Back`) and Doves (`Lost Souls` and `The Last Broadcast`) are a must.

If you like White Stripes then try Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (`B.R.M.C`)

And another recommendation is Television`s album `Marquee Moon` heard a track on Mark and Lard yesterday and rushed out and bought the album and is stunning. Punky, wiry music thats not afraid to rock.

RE: 24 Hour Party People : re-living a generation........

I`d have thought their old record label would be up for it...they`ve milked em dry enough before what with the debut album being released in about 4 different guises, and thats before you get to the Greatest Hits and Remix albums.

Yeah the Fools Gold vid was class....so good that Oasis felt the need to rip it off wholesale.

RE: 24 Hour Party People : re-living a generation........

I reckon they should knock out a Stone Roses dvd...even if its the Blackpool Live video, it might have dodgy sound on the recording but what a concert!!!

RE: 24 Hour Party People : re-living a generation........

As an exiled Northerner living down south who was 14/15 when the whole Madchester kicked off, I was gutted to see that about only 1 cinema in a 50 mile radius was showing it, and then it was only on for about 2 weeks max. I`m just gonna have to wait for the old DVD to come out!

Hopefully MC Tunes will make an appearance! Nish, clish bang!
