RE: For Sale: Brand new sony DCR-TRV22E Mini DV digital handycam for sale

Hi Matt, the camera is brand new, I bought one for myself but was sent two by the company, rather than send it back and get hit with an admin charge I advertised it on the forums. It arrived with me just over a week ago, boxed and still sealed, if you need anymore info e-mail me and I`ll help you out as best I can, regards, Al.

RE: Widescreen picture too big for tv

The dcs303 doesn`t output RGB, only svhs, it is on the right AV channel and the picture is crystal clear but I`m still losing part of the picture on the left hand side. The only adjustable option picturewise in the dvd player menu is to change the svhs setting form S2 to S1 which it recommends you do if your picture is stretched or distorted but doing that doesn`t make any difference. I`m going to try svhs/svhs cable and see if that makes any difference, if not its back to the drawing board!

Thanks for all the help,

Mark.

RE: Widescreen picture too big for tv

How do you change the outputs from RGB to S-video and vice versa? Do you mean switch the outputs using the dvd player? the player I`m using is the pioneer dcs303 which only has an S-video socket, I didn`t think it was possible to switch the settings on this but i am kinda new to this game. I appreciate what you said about the zoom settings, I`ve been through that quite a few times just to double check but still no difference.

Very confused...

Mark.

RE: Widescreen picture too big for tv

It`s definitely running through the svideo scart socket, if I run it through the RGB scart the picture is poor, I was considering changing to to a straight svhs cable and running it through the TV svideo socket to see if that made any difference, not too sure what to do!

Mark.

RE: Widescreen picture too big for tv

Cheers for that Nick, I was getting kinda worried there!

Widescreen picture too big for tv

I have a philips 32pw6526 widscreen tv with a pioneer dcs303 home cinema system. The dvd system is connected to the tv with a svhs-scart cable but the left hand side of the picture appears to be chopped when watching dvds. What I mean is if you watch a dvd in widscreen and then use the tv control to reduce the pic to 4:3 ratio you can see more detail on the left hand side of the picture, when you put it back in widescreen again it appears to expand so much that it cuts off part of the picture on the left. This only became obvious because when the dvd player on screen disply comes on you can see the first letter is missing/partly missing. If anybody has any ideas about why this would happen I`d really like to hear them.

Cheers,

Mark.
