problems with Pacific 750

I used the suggested hack for the Pacific 1000 on this machine...but when playing a R1 dvd i get no picture only a)blank screen or
b)diagonal lines across the screen as though the picture is not tuned in.Anyone any advice as to where i`m going wrong? Thanks!
