RE: I need Urgent help with the Phillips DVD 711

which hack did you use.
i used the hack on this web site and it worked fine.on a phillips 612.
if you haven`t,
get a 1,4,all remote and keep trying diferent codes.
i locked my player and now it works ok.

RE: Sanyo AVD8501 Home Cinema System (Surround Sound Help)

i have the same player.
the scart that came with the dvd should work i havent done it that way myself though.
just plug that scart in with the 2 phono leads at the tv end,the other in dvd you proberbly have it like this alredy. plug the red and white lead in the dvd phonos marked `input`L,R, to the far left of player. set dvd to video1 to get sound, you myte need to turn off av channel to the normal tv watching channle and turn down sound on tv.
just plug scart from video to the other scart socket on dvd and set dvd to video2. the should free up a scart socket on the tv have your sky in that if possible.

let me know if it helps you. i can help you more by email if you wish.

RE: Pacific DVD player any good ?

i tryed a pacific 750 from asda and took it back the same day.
a bit slow to respond to forward and rewind and pauses about 5sec on the duel layer discs.
didnt play any mp3 i tryed.
but it played ok. for £50 it could be ok for the bedroom.
it had something about schneider in the manual.

RE: Aiwa Ht-DV90 / Sanyo AVD8501 Home Cinema Sound Systems

just got the sanyo player 8501 ipaid 299 for it at powerhouse. its the same price at currys to.
it a good all round player i have had 11 dvd players in the space of 2 years this has been the best 1 so far, the others were mostly cheap 1s though apart from a toshiba which my dad still uses.
the mp3 seamed a bit off though. i`ve tried a cdr and a cdrw, with tracks recorded at 56kbs, it sounds abit funny like there a beat missing or something, it myte just be the discs ive used or the mp3 compression.its the first time ive recorded any mp3 before hope this helps you.
simon

it was the compresion the player needs 128kbs or better.
