RE: Setting Up

SKY video to video scart in. Video scart out to available scart on TV, NOT s-video one. (great)

How do I know which is s-video scart socket? so I don`t connect my video to it.

RE: Setting Up

I`d also have to question whether it`s worth sticking Sky thru the RGB socket, but that really depends on your TV. The RGB picture from a digibox isn`t that much better than the composite picture. However, your TV may have a cracking S-Video picture, which is perhaps better for some TVs in terms of DVD playback.

Little bit confused as to the above paragraph. Can u explain in more detail please.

TV sound

I have a sony TV but have set the DVD player to take sound when watching TV programmes. Should sound still come from the speakers built in to the TV or should the sound for the TV be disabled and if so how do you do that with a Sony TV.

RE: Which Scart socket

My DVD player doesn`t have a scart socket.

TV Speakers (Newbie)

Should they be off when my TV plays through my DVD speakers or be left on?

Which Scart socket

I have 3 scarts sockets on the back of my TV.
To which would u connect a VCR, Satellite Box and a DVD player. My first socket is RGB.

RE: Setting Up

I have 3 scart connectors in the back of the tv. What is the best order to put my satelite receiver, DVD and video. I believe RGB may make a difference.

RE: Setting Up

Sorry this is probably basic stuff, but I have a Sony TV, how do you turn the virtual sound off. What does Video 2 on the DVD do and does it need any special setting up.

How do you get DVD to arrive on screen the second you press play whilst watching sky or terrestrial TV.

RE: Setting Up

Still I have no sound from my DVD speakers when watching Sky or Terrestrial TV.

I have a phono lead from the back of the TV to the DVD. It must be a setting which needs altering on the TV or DVD but which setting?

RE: Setting Up

Any idea how I select AUX

RE: Setting Up

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

What about getting the sound from the TV to come out of the DVD speakers. Which phono leads do I connect and where? I seem to have tried every connection but the only sound from the DVD speakers is when the DVD is playing.

Is it worth purchasing an s-video to scart lead instead of the composite?

David

Setting Up

I have
A sony tv with 3 scart sockets, and 1 phono socket (red & white)
A Pace digital Box with 2 scarts , and 1 phono socket (red & white)
A VCR with 2 scarts, a 1 phono socket (red & white)
A Sony DAV-S500 DVD with No scart socket and the usual video in, out etc. 1 yellow composite hole and (i think) an s-video socket

The leads I have are
3 scart to scart leads
1 yellow composite to yellow composite lead
2 phone to phono leads (red & white)
1 Scart to 2 phono sets of leads (red & white)
1 Scart adapter that take a yellow composite lead and also a set of phono leads.

How do I set up to get the best out of my system. At present the sky button does nothing on the remote but all other aspects of the remote work. I would like the Sky button to work.
I would also like to have sound from all sources come through my DVD surround sound speakers.

Please help.

Sound Problem

Have just purchased a Sony DavS500 Player and also a 36" Sony widescreen TV. Everything looks fine but I can`t get sound from TV programmes to go through my DVD speakers. How do I connect the leads to make this happen and do I need to alter any settings.

Currently I have a yellow single lead going to a scart adapter in the back of the TV (nothing in the white or red holes on the scart) and also have a lead red and white from my tv to dvd video in line in 2.

I can get sound through the tv speakers when sky is on and get sound through my dvd speakers when i play a dvd, but not when the tv or sky is on.

Please help. If u need to ask any questions please feel free.

David

Recommend me a Player

Have been advised that ScanSC2000 is good. Is it? What do you get by paying £350 to say £150.

Recommend me a player and give me a rough price people.
