RE: Another

Just bought the Sammy 40" Series 6 and its absolutly amazing

RE: New LCD or Plasma

Well, today i bought a Samsung 40" Series 6 LCD and the HD picture compaired to my old Sharp is amazing.

New LCD or Plasma

I have been given the ok to get a new lcd after my son broke my last one. What is the best one I could get below £700 the only stipulation I have is 42". I watch a lot of sport and watch the HD channels on Sky and Blue Rays from my PS3. LCD or Plasma is the main confusing point. I ahve seen a lovely 600hz 42" Samsung Plasma the picture looks excellent on HD, but are plasma`s better or worse showing SD programms.
Please help.

Daewoo HD LCD

Has anyone got any info on the Daewoo 42"LCD Full HD. I`ve seen one for a good price £768, but was unsure of their pedegree. Any info would be helpfull.

HD Question

What is the difference between HD Ready and Full HD. I`m living in Germany and only have normal Sky+, what would be the best for picture quality at SD. Plasma or LCD, I`m looking at 42" size

Sky+ Question

Just bought a Caravan and it has a Sat Dish with Single LNB supplied. Can I split the Co-ax inside the caravan from single into 2 outputs so that my Sky+ will work. It would be easier than trying to run a double cable all the way throught the Caravan.

RE: TV that recognizes both PAL & NTSC?

Yep Thats the 1. I used to live quite near the new Cannex. Rawalpindi Place. 2001-2003 (BATUS Workshop). In sunny Gutersloh now. The only slight problem I had, that I couldn`t find an answer to, was that my Sky system when plugged into 1 of the RGB connections the colours used to flicker slightly, I then used the other RGB connection and that cured the problem.

RE: TV that recognizes both PAL & NTSC?

When I was in Canada with the Army, I bought a 29" flat screen Multi System from the Canadian cannex. It works perfectly well both in UK and Germany, although there is a slight problem with no scart sockets.

RE: Sky or Freeview Abroad???? Help Needed?

I`m based in Germany with the Army, even though it`s ilegal to have sky abroad, this place is just dotted with Sky dishes. As long as the card is registered at a UK address then Sky don`t ask any questions. I`ve had Sky+ for 1 year, and 7 months of that I`ve been in Germany(not connected to a phone line). There is a box that can be bought on the internet which diguises your phone number (not the battery trick) and you can order PPV, but it`s quite expensive. Some of the guys get away with giving Sky UK mobile phone numbers, and then order prem plus etc. with them. That`s all you need to do is buy another Sat Dish in Spain and take your Sky box and card with you.

RE: Plasma Help 42%R

I currently live in Germany, so thats how we get the german (16%) tax off, there seem to be a lot of bargins, but most of the makes I have never heared of. My next door neighbour Has just bought a 42" LG for £820 tax free. he Thinks thats a bit big (room 12ft x 12ft) and I noticed a bit of blurring while watching the football. I will be watching Sky on it, but we can`t upgrade to Sky HD as we are in Germany and if Sky found that out they would cut us off. I`ve seen a Pioneer, Sony and Yamaha on HD (German channels) and they looked fantastic, but they were 42"-50". I will have around £1-1.5k to spend. The pioneer and sony were around £1200 but the Yamaha was £2000. What make has the best Screens.

Plasma Help 42%R

I am based in Germany with the Army, I`m convincing the wife about getting a plasma TV, What size and Make would you recomend? as i`m over here I can get the tax off. What would the Uk prices be?

RE: POLL: What is the best/ideal screen size....?

I have a 6m x 6m front room and my 32" crt is the correct size for me. my next door neighbour has bought a 42" plasma and hates it, doesn`t like the picture and it is too big. Says he need`s to be about another 3-4m away from the screen

RE: SKY+ problem

I do get problems recording sometimes, especially ITV. The other problem is I`m living in Germany (Army), so I can`t phone a sky engineer.

SKY+ problem

My sky signal is different on the 2 receivers on my Sky+ box , the signal strength on the top is nearly all the way to the right, where my bottom signal strenght is just above the OK and sometimes drops lower, I have to houskeep the system and then the strength goes back up, but not as good as the top receiver. Any answers?

Sat Nav PDA v TomTom

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am considering buying a sat nav, but I don`t know whether to get a PDA with the software and antenna, or a normal Sat Nav like Tom Tom or Navman. I will need European maps as well as I am in the Army and about to be posted to Germany.

Sky F**K Up

Ordered my Skt+ with multiroom on line. Paid by switch. Installation booked for AM on Wed 13/07. I received my new extra card, a receipt for the payement and the usuall welcome to Sky crap. Took a day off work, and patiantly waited. 11:00 cane and no sign of sky bloke. Phoned Sky and they informed me I`d cancelled my instalation, i replied i`d had no contact with sky and had received all the info about my installation. They couldn`t tell me why my installtion was cancelled, only that I could have a refund and then re-order. I accepted the refund and told them where to shove their Sky+. Thats my rant over, anyone else experienced some Sky incompetence like that

Cheers guys

Is Sky+ worth the money

Currently thinking of getting Sky+ multiroom for £149. Is it worth the money? So I can try and persuade the wife it would be a good thing to purchase. :D

RE: Help With SONY KV32FC60Z

I`ve recently got a Sony KV32FX68 100Hz and it`s brilliant. Excellent picture and sound. I`ve had a Sony 25" for 8 years and had no problems.

RE: Sky Remote

Thanks, works a treat

Sky Remote

Has any one still got their remote codes for sky. I`ve just started using a Hitachi TV and can`t remember the remote numbers and how to change TV Codes.

RE: Dolby

Just read on another site, Sky + has digital out, but normal Sky Digital phono outputs will output Dolby Pro-Logic and my Optical Link was apparently only outputting Dolby Pro-logic. thanks for the help Guys

RE: Dolby

My old receiver had optical out, but the Thompson Receivers don`t have optical or coaxial out. If I had known before the Sky rep fitted my system I would have asked for a different box

Dolby

I have a Thompson Sky reciever but it has no optical out like my previous receiver, I now this may be a stupid question, but will the phono leads (L/R) connected to my Amp (which receives pro logic, dolby digital etc) produce surround sound. The sourround speakers seem to be producing some sound, but not as much as I thought they would. :/

RE: Sky and my TV not compatable

No scart available through my tv, tried a scart to rgb/ left/ right adaptor and scart to video s but still the picture fluctuates.

Sky and my TV not compatable

I have a multi system 28" tv bought in canada. It works ok with my dvd player, freeview box, ps2, and uk terestrial tv programs. When I plug in my sky digi box the picture colours fluctuates from light to dark, when connected through the phono sockets or through the tv arial socket. The picture is fine through my uk bought tv.
