RE: TV sound
On my TV (not Sony) sound still comes out as well as through the DVD. I just turn the volume on the TV right down to zero.
RE: Amazon.Com and customs
Amazon are one of the dearest retailers on the planet(for DVD`s & P&P), so either, they are the only ones to stock what you want or you have money to throw away, in which case another couple of quid won`t make much difference to you. Have you tried www.pricecheck.co.uk. I`m sure you`ll find it cheaper elsewhere and maybe for under the £20 mark. I`ve just received a package from Australia. The label says it`s a gift with a value of $15, inside is $75 worth of DVD`s. Most firms I use do the same.
RE: Toy Story R1 - NAD T550 & NTSC - Heeelp!!!
Switchable sounds like it can be set to one or the other. Is there a menu in your setup which you can change manually. I had the same problem with the R1 Toy Story. I had it set to PAL. My machine (not the same as yours) had a option for NTSC or PAL or AUTO. Have a good look if you haven`t already.
EzyDVD Delivery in four days
They sent me an email telling me they had dispatched it on Mon and it arrived today (Thurs) Now thats service, Amazon would still be processing my order.
RE: Are devoted.com.au okay?
Free post is on certain items only and in Oz only, you have to pay shipping to the U.K. It`s about £1.50 for 1 DVD (padded bag,DVD in a sleeve) but the price comes down a couple of dollars because of some tax they have to pay in Oz only. Have only used them once so far but was very impressed. They posted it on a Mon and I got it on the Fri
RE: Where`s Armageddon gone at HMV 2 for 20
If your machine is multi regional, I`ve just bought it from Ezydvd in Oz for £8.17 delivered (22.68 Oz dollars)
RE: Bits of grass in my CD from Play247!
Being in Jersey, they probably employ the cows as cheap labour. Just received a package from them today with no grass. Might phone and complain. It was normal grass wasn`t it ?
RE: HIT ANIMAL WITH CAR
If you hit something like a horse or a dog, you must report it, especially if it`s still alive. Cats, small birds, squirrels, hedgehogs etc are fair game and can be left for Mr fox to clean up. Rolf Harris will not be knocking on your door tonight.
RE: Toy Story Picture Quality (R1)
Give those men a cigar. Thanks Dan & cw2000. You were spot on, I checked my player and it was set to PAL. I thought I had it on auto.
Toy Story Picture Quality (R1)
I am disappointed with the picture quality on the above. Around the edge of objects is really pixely and when the camera pans I get a rippled movement effect on objects as well. I know it is computer animation and as with PC`s without a good enough graphics card you get this effect. Has anyone else had this this problem? I noticed it straight away and it`s bugging me. I have a lower end of the market 28", has it been found out?

RE: Dansai 852 & Multi Region Disks Won`t Play
Have you tried setting your Dansai to region 1 instead of multi regional ?
Could be a RCE problem
RE: grundig620ht
When I looked into copy DVD`s it looked to me as if you could only convert it into a VCD, SuperVCD or some other format that was best for PC use and you would lose the 5.1 and get stereo. Also the picture quality of a VCD is only the same as a VHS. One site hinted at a straight copy giving you a DVD end product, that was copying onto a DVD-R. This might be the problem, as the Grundig is a lower end player, it probably doesn`t support DVD-R. I have the same machine and have some music copies on CD-R format, some work and some don`t. I don`t think it does CDR-W either. If you find a way, I`d be interested to know.
Legitimate question on DVD backup`s
After seeing a previous question on CD backups, I looked into DVD backups, especially since my little boy has lost one of mine. It seemed to me that you could backup to VCD format, but the picture quality is not as good. That sounds like copying a CD to cassette (pointless). Can you do a straight copy, picture & sound quality wise?. I have a DVD-Rom and CD writer on my PC. Rest assured any info will not result in me selling copies at my local market.
Dick Turpin At Dixons
The Pioneer "Superslim" package was recommended to me in a previous link. £599 at homecinemaheaven.com. Dixons are now advertising it as the Pioneer HC-50S-QL for £699. From what I`ve seen most people who contribute to this forum seem too intelligent to shop for goods at Dixons anyway, so this warning is for the others.
