RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

You can change it as many times as you like, but why would you want to do this? If you set it to region 9 then you can watch all regions without having to change the setting ever again!
Good luck, hop ethis helped!

RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

The Macrovision is a device that stops us recording DVD`s to videos, if you want to tape DVD`s to VHS then by all means disable the macrovision.

RE: How do you know if it worked? Philips DVD622

The ONLY way you know is if you try an R1 disk!!! and the disk thing you were talking about is RCE (REGION CODE ENHANCEMENT) this is a thing that WARNER and a couple of other dist have put on to their R1 disks that stop "REGION FREE" players playing them. BUT if you have a multi region player then it SHOULD be ok!

Any probs please let me knoe.

RE: Multi Region Hack Page (One for Robert John Shepherd)

HEY whoever you are!

I`m not DVDREVIER staff but I have my own view on what you say!

What you say sounds great BUT there is on average 5 maybe 7 threads per page? so what happens when your hitachi player and haus get too much for the "H" page? do we have 2 "H" pages?

I think it`s OK the way it is, But that`s just my view.

good will and peace to all

Matt

RE: IF I CAN`T GET HELP WITH THIS I`LL GO MAD.............

Sorry to say but Steves right!!!! But then again DVDCHIPS is CHEAP so for the sake of about 20 quid you might aswell get it chipped!

That`s just my advice anyway!

Matt
AKA LOSTBOY!!!

BUT please don`t post any new requests on that thread. 99% of hacks are listed on this site, so if you you can`t find it on the region hack page do asearch on the forum and you will probably find what you are looking for.

Thankyou for all your input.

RE: Goodmans 3500 - How to change to PAL or NTSC Output.

Enter setup - video-enter - tv system-enter - PAL-enter.

This should do it!

Good luck
Matt

OOOOPS!!!

OOOOOPS Yes well spotted! I was just testing you all! OL not really - LOSTBOY, ie ME did make a typo and I apologise!!! Sorry if it caused any un needed trouble!
It is indeed 9817 and not 9187 as me, the fool said!

once again sorry!

Matt

RE: FOUND!!! HACK FOR GOODMANS DVD3500PK

Ok, firstly, if your TV is NOT NTSC copatable then you can enter the normal setup page and set the video output to PAL, this will enable NTSC R1 disks to play in colour. Secondly, Macrovision is a pain in the ass device that stops us recording dvd`s and videos, if you disable this it will let you tape DVD`s to video providing you have an NTSC VCR which nowdays are very common and cheap.

Good luck
Let me know if this works please!

Matt

Come on help me!!!!

Hey Matt here!!! aka Lostboy!!!
I need to buy a 28" widescreen TV and I need it to be NTSC compatable too, OH and not too expensive!!!
Any suggestions?

Matt

Philips 756

Here you go

Philips DVD-756

Press Play on the remote, followed by 2, 7 and 4.

When the display reads `___ ____` enter 005 000 128 156 using the remote.

Press Play on the remote.

Your player is now a region 1 only player. To return it to region 2 only do the following:

Press Play on the remote, followed by 2, 7 and 4.

When the display reads `___ ____` enter 002 000 128 156 using the remote.

Press Play on the remote.

Your player is now a region 2 only player.

Hope this helps

Matt

SONY DAVS300

Sorry but you will need to get this chipped, you can do it yourself for about £20 or have it done proffessionally for a little bit more, either way check out WWW.DVDCHIPS.CO.UK, you will find all the info you need here.

Matt

LEFF For you!

To behonest with you, I know the Toshiba you are talking about and it supposed to be avey good player £180 right? My advice is to get the model No, then check out WWW.DVDCHIPS.CO.UK and see if there is a modchip available for it, they are easy to fit and will definitely work if fitted correctly. Will cost you about £20. In my experience Dual voltage players are not a good thing, but the Toshiba dual voltage has a good reputation.

Hope this was of some help.

Matt

Sony SVPS336!!!!

Sorry to have to tell you this but Sony, being the stick in the muds that the are make their players un-hackable!!! (NICE HEH?)
BUT don`t depair, all is not lost, you CAN get a MODCHIP for it, which is basically a chip that fits inside the player and overrides the region restristion. This will cost you about £20 which I`m sure you`ll agree is well worth it. Also I think there is now a magic program for it which should be carried out by someone that knows what they are doing, this should only be about £20 aswell.
Check out I think they do the chips and the Magic reprogramming. Pretty sire the guys name is Steve.

Good luck and happy viewing

Matt

Not too sure on this one incredible!!!

Try this one!
If not, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Converting this player to multi-region:

Switch the player on

Press and hold the following buttons for 3 seconds, STOP, OPEN and SKIP

When the hidden menu appears select region free or a specific region

Exit the menu

Apology accepted! :)

No need for an Apology, you had every right to be dubious :) The only reason I put my e-mail down was because I thought there might be a few more than that and I didn`t want to clogg up the airways so to speak.
In all honesty I did have a bit of time on my hands and felt like a challenge. :)

Matt :)

PS2 Multi-region hack!!!!!

The Japanese Playstation 2 is only meant to play Region 2 NTSC movies on DVD. However, there are several tricks you can use to enable playback of Region 1 NTSC movies.

The Playstation 2 can NOT play any PAL movies, regardless of the region coding. Well, at least we have never heard of anyone who have had any success.

There are two versions of the DVD driver, and you must use a different trick depending on which one you have got.

If your Utilities disc have "Version 1.01" printed on it, you have the new driver. If you Utilities disc dont have a version number, you have the old driver. The actual driver is located on the 8M memory card that came with the playstation. If you want/need to, you can download the driver from the utility disc to the memory card.

Region hack for the old driver:
Method 1:

Hold down L1, Circle, and Select while booting until movie starts

Method 2:

Press in L3 (the left analog stick) straight and hard until movie starts

Region hack for the new driver:
1: Start the PS2, enter the Browser

2: Insert DVD, wait for the CD icon

3: Select the CD Icon

4: Press Square and keep it down

5: Press Circle and keep it down (Do not release Square, you should now be pressing two buttons)

6: Wait for the DVD menu

7: Release the keys

8: Start the movie with the play icon or the movie start icon

RE: ANYONE NEED ANY HELP???????

Not too sure on this one, try this, it may work.

Press the on/off button on the player to turn it off

2. Press and hold the buttons eject and A-B together, and then press the on/off button on the player to turn it back on
3. When the text A:00 D:12 appears on the units display, release the eject and A-B buttons

4. By pressing the play button to increase, and the stop button to decrease, change the value of A until it reads A:05
5. By pressing the skip-forward button to increase, and the skip-backward button to decrease, change the value of D until it reads D:00 for region free, D:01 for region 1 or D:02 for region 2, depending on your preference

6. Press the on/off button on the player to turn it off
7. Press the on/off button on the player to turn it on

Gdvd 125 hack

The hack for the Goodmans GDVD 125 to make the player region free is as follows:

Turn On the System and Open the DVD Disc Drawer
Now with the DVD Drawer Open, Press SETUP
This will take you into the SETUP options
Move along the options to the CUSTOM options
Now PRESS 3333 on your Remote
A menu will appear listing the multiple region SELECT ` 0 ` to make the machine multi region.

I will come back with the alba! are you sure it`s 103xi???

Hope this helps
Matt

RE: ANYONE NEED ANY HELP???????

hey, Ok for this you need a 1 for all remote from somewhere like comets or currys, should cost you about £15.

Here`s a code for ALL Philips DVD players:

The code works (should work) with all known firmwares and types. The bad news is that you need a special remote to use it. First you have to issue a special IR command RC6, codeset 4, key 235 (decimal). Then the rest of the code should be entered normally. So the code is

RC6 code 222 222 005 255 PLAY

The RC6,4,235 code is can be sent using One4All (URC7560) universal remote. To do so, the remote should be set up to control the DVD (setup code 0539). Then press the DVD
button, press the Magic button, press 085. After the 085 the familiar dashes on the front panel display should appear. So the rest is simple, 222 222 005 255 and PLAY.

Do not have a special remote? A Palm owner? Well in this case it`s your lucky day. Using the famous OmniRemote software from Pacific Neo-Tek it is possible to use the code.
OmniRemote is the application changing the Palm into programmable remote control. Using the correct pdb file, which can be downloaded from my site soon, it is possible to use the RC6 code.

Good luck.

Matt
