X Files season 1 - £12.99

Play are selling X Files season 1 for £12.99, now the dilema, do I buy this, locking me into buying the other seasons at the best prices available over the coming years.

Or do I wait to watch and see if the full season box set comes down in price to below £100, which I reconne it would at some point, abit I when 007 box set was £66

After a week of um`ing and r`ing decided to pop into the blackpool store on the way to work this morning to get one and they had 4 palets full and a 5 shelf display of them (estimate 1000+).

Will be used to listen to bbc`s listen again programmes on the way to work

High street dvd sales are bad this year, they just been doing HMV`s trick of reworking the prices then adding in the BOGOF or one half price but the cost for the total remains the same.

I`ve ordered one as well, personally expecting it to be canceled but if you don`t try you`ll never know.

It`s a badly designed site that allows you to go to the next stage by cancelling a warning message, really to avoid confusion than should have the lcd tv option with the rest of the monitors and get rid on the No monitor option.

If I get it, it`ll act as a server to try out linux and do my hobby developing.

Free Fever Pitch DVD - NOTW

In my copy of News of the World this morning was a dvd of FilmFours Fever Pitch, was abit surprised as an advert on TV lastnight said you had to goto Blockbuster to get it - which would of been difficult as it`s 50miles await.

Went into the Kendal store today and they were selling all there dvd`s and pc game (non top10) for £3 each. And gameboy advance games for £5. (looks like they`re getting out of the market in these areas)

I bought Eddie Izzard`s Circle for £3 and also EA Winter 2002 which I thought contained 9 PC games, was abit pee-d of when I got home to find it was a dvd video containing promo films for EA`s games. The price sticker covered a `For promotional use only - NOT FOR RESALE` sticker - good job I only paid £3 for it.

So tomorrow an email will be flying it`s way to whsmiths customer services.

I got a couple of packs from the blackpool store, had to hunt high and low, finally found them at the checkouts.

On the label it said £3.75, and I got charged half that price at £1.87 each for a pack of 4.

Was also wanting some AAA for my 2 way radios, but the £1 ones were rated at 750Mah, do any AAA`s come in high capacity - 750 don`t last long in my radios.

My local Catalogue Bargain Shop (CBS) is selling a Pioneer DEH-P77MP
(WMA/MP3/CD RDS Tuner) for £125, half it`s normal price of £250.

These stores are all over the country, and stock varies, there are 6 in the
Kendal superstore, also some ministry of sound steros for around the same price, but did note the model.

It`s full screens 4:3, so not widescreen or anamorphic

I think they realised there are not alot of megastore in the north west of england, wish the Sun DVD`s and PC games were included with the paper, my nearest blockbuster is 50 mile away

I bought a NotW from my local Spar today and the Big `DVD` is included with the mag which has confused me as I also saw the advert on TV saying `via voucher redeemable at Virgin Megastore`. It`s good it has been included as my closest Virgin store is 75 miles away.

Maybe its regional?

It`s just the film with 3 trailers tags to the beginning, all full screen, no menu and no chapters.

They were selling a nokia 3410 for £25 (normal price £69.99) but they had run out of the virgin service pack, so would need to buy one of those else where. Was just worried that I could only buy a virgin service pack for the phone.

Our Price - closing down bargains

The offers maybe different in each store but all these shops close down at the end of Feb, in the Kendal store its currently 50% off all clearance prices including cds, dvds, mobile phones.


I`ve was wanting a payg mobile, but they only had the phones but had run out of virgin sim service packs, anyone know if these phones are tide to virgin or can I use any providers payg sim. plus where can i get the cheapest payg sim.

A friend bought a car few years back which after 6 months needed the code putting in which he didn`t have, while trying to get the dealer to contact the previous owner for the code he`d heard about the freezer trick but throught it was a miff, but had nothing to lose trying it - he put it over night and tried it the next day and it worked, his dealer came through with the code.

It was ivor luck or something else

Don`t know about the midlands but one police force did there business on Ebay, it was very good until the last month when there were loads of complaints - I`ve not seen it since.
