RE: 128mb MP3 Player £54.99

I can vouch for this player being very gud! My mate has a 64Mb version which he bought a few months ago for about £55.

The sound quality is gud, jsut swap for a gud pair of headphones.

Like you would expect battery use is high but just get some rechargeables.

Great price, great find!

£64.49 including P&P

RE: Can anyone recommend a £110 or less DVD Player?

I was thinking about getting the Technika, but the site only stats that it plays DVDs and Mp3s. Is this accurate? The price is also £89.99. See Empire link above.

Can anyone recommend a £110 or less DVD Player?

Hi,
I have finally decide to buy a separate DVD player, since I usually watch on PC... and because the family is starting to bug me big time.

The things I`m overwhelmed with different DVD player info and looking for one that you guys can recommend. I`d like one that is multi-region or can be hacked using a code or something. I would like it to play CDR/CDRW/MP3 in particular, VCDs dont reall interest me.

BTW Littlewoodsextra.com have a Bush DVD Player for £110 (doesnt play cdr-w\mp3) is it any good?

Thank you very much.

RE: Richer Sounds managers.

I gotta completely agree, the RIcher Sounds guys know there stuff and rather freakily always happy and eager.

And I know what you mean by the Guildford guy! For another axe murderer checkout the Milton Keynes manager!

"Richer Sounds has made the Guinness Book of Records for the past 10 years for recording the highest sales in the world for stores of their size" just goes to prove it.

BTW who came 1st and 2nd?

RE: bollywood dvd uk retailers???

one I havent seen mention is a personal fave of mine and that is cdguru.com (http://www.cdguru.com). It is UK based and delivery is fast. i would say choose indiaweekly if you order a lot in one go (but beware of delivey cost - 5.99 + $2 per dvd) but if you want one or two dvds quickly choose cdguru.
CDGuru prices are about 14.99 standard which is cheaper than non-bollywood retailers but still more expensive than indiaweekly\indiancdstore.

RE: Region 4 DVD`s

and if you need to find a r4 retailer then visit http://www.dvdstep.com :-).
Price is the big significant difference between R4 & R2. The only other thing is for some movies R4 contents are better (especially oz films) and vice-versa I suppose.

RE: can ne1 recommend a good comedy

Crossroads? Coronation Street? He he he... I just couldn`t resist!

RE: New DVD Retailer Website Available

Southhall? You`ll find a lot of Desi Retailers!

RE: New DVD Retailer Website Available

I don`t mind :)

There are two pirate copies available. The official onewon`t be out for ages since Yash Raj Films are really slow with this kind of thing and the films success in the cinema.

The first is by Cinema Active (fake name) and just has the film and song menu. Quality isn`t bad but is cropped big time! (You can only see the last few letters of names during the opening credits).

The second is by Time Line (fake name) and is better 1.70:1 or somethig technical like that. It includes the film (duh!), menus (duh 2) and the making of K3G. Overall much better.

I haven`t found any online retailers selling these for obvious reason but your desi video shop is probably the best bet. Which part of the UK you in?

RE: New DVD Retailer Website Available

HI,
Thanks for replying guys.

The delivery is the quoted time and I know what you mean about sites like Ezy who are a lot quicker. Let me see if I can do anything about it.

The reviews are a good idea the two probs I`m worried about though is security (if people have to register) and how worthwhile it would be for everyone. Perhaps as the site settles down and becomes easier to manage (using asp with a db) I can add this feature on.

New DVD Retailer Website Available

Hi,
I thought I would inform ou of a new website I am working on at http://www.dvdstep.com/.
It features a directory of Region 1,2 and 4 retailers as well as Bollywood specialist retailers.
It`s kept simple with info on how competitive prcing is, how much delivery costs and how long it takes, and also what payment methods they accept. It also features a price comparison section for Bollywood DVDs.

i would be interested in views on the funcionality and design of the website, so please visit!

ps. Clayts I couldn`t figure a way of messaging youm couldn`t find your email address!

RE: OT - Creme Eggs

I guess it`s for f**ks sake :-> ?

creme eggs should be banished from society and onyl released a week prior to Easter.

RE: which is the best place for hindi film dvd for region2 or 0

hopefully, your still on the look out. I thought you might want to try cdguru.com which is very good, under18.org.uk and bensonsworld.co.uk as well.

Here comes the self-promo :-) ---------->
You may wish to visit the site I am working on at http://www.dvdstep.com which carries alist of Bolllywood retailers including the international retailers.

It also shows region1,2,4 retailers all categorised to show a rating, competitiveness, delivery time and cost and payment methods.

It also has a Price Compare section just for new bollywood dvds which may be of more interest.

P.S. I`m still working on the site so forgive the mess!

RE: Shawshank Redemption £5.99 at Virgin

I`m pretty sure the virgin at leics had it for £9 with the 3 for £27 offer. :/

if it is £6 then + 10% VCard discount = £5.40 (he says hoping he hasn`t got his maths wrong.)

RE: Anyone ever used Region2.com ??

that took me to dvdwild.com. :-/
I think they are jsut happy they got the domain name.

RE: VHS BOX SET ..X-FILES SERIES 1....14.99p Leicester

RE: IMPORT TAX.....IMPORT TAX??

Forgive me if any of this is incorrect...

but if it costs less than £18 then you pay no tax, which is why r1 dvds from sites such as movietyme.com and play247.com cost £17.99 or less. Also this is why buy from ezydvd and the like is cheaper, as no tax payable. (and strong pound)

Some people get away without paying tax for box sets which cost a lot more. partly luck? and partly to do with the declaration form sent by the retailer saying its a gift.

Visit hmce.gov.uk for more info however i can`t find that specific page whihc had the product categories and tax rate.

hopefully that helps a bit.

RE: The Usual Suspects?

I bought mine from eBay UK for £14.00 (r1) well worth it. You can usually stumble across a few copies every day. (he says with fingers crosse as he checks ebay out)

RE: Asian web sites

I`ve heard of DVDshelf.com but never used it, if that helps. Ive been told its only best to order if you but a lot in one go.

HMV Shops a rip off compared to HMV Online?

I went into my local HMV (I say local but its a mission and a half job) in Leicester and noticed that all the DVDs seemed to be priced at 17.99 or 19.99. Thats odd because I did noticed a few dvds such as U571, Austin Powers and Little Nicky (see dicanio`s thread) for 9.99!... WTF!
Just be aware of stupid HMV!

RE: How about a visit to the local market?

Alright Bear,
I go on any weekday really but not thursday as the good dvd seller isn`t there. best are monday, tuesday and friday. I`ve spotted four sellers, the one with the best prices is <wierd incoming directions follow> the one virtually across from the superdrugs adjacent to the market. He`s a sound bloke and his dvds are almost mint condition (if you understand what I mean!).

I got Elephant Man and Exorcist at HMV, the guy there said that there is going to be a BOGOF free this week, but tuesday came and no new offer there:/
