Goodbye Sven, Goodbye Beckham, Good Riddance!

This has been the worst era in England`s Football History - not for results, but for entertainment, the only performance worth note was the 5-1 German Victory 5 years ago!!

I`m hoping Steve McLaren starts culling useless players (yes, that means you Beckham) and starts to form a familiar useful formation that pushes forward and makes use of the strikers. We should also keep the balls to feet and try to pass the ball instead of hoofing longballs into the box to no-one.

The time for England to change is now, if we don`t then we can kiss our footballing heritage goodbye.

Sven, if you`re out there, you`ve been useless, unrewarding and overpaid.

We have one of the most exciting leagues in the world (the premiership) so what do we do when it comes to international football,we drop the premiership style of play and start hoofing the long ball.
I`m all for change but can`t see a massive change with Svens replacement.

Could it be down to the fact that the Premiership is overloaded with foreign players?

Couldn`t agree more, if the FA had the Balls to get rid of abramovic & bring back normality to our leagues then things will get back to normal.

As for Beckham, he singlehandedly got us to the quarter finals. Look at the goal chances missed by Lampard & Gerrard that really cost us the world cup. Out of position or not out of position the extremely good chances were there & missed.

Nicely said.

Lampard should be fighting for a place on the subs bench from now on.
A great club player does not a great England player make. We have seen this plenty of times in the past - John Barnes for example, Lampard was shockingly bad through the whole world cup.
All he did was use up a space Lennon should have been filling.

Beckham`s passing was inch perfect the whole tournament, Lampard did sweet f.a.

I don`t think Sven did that much wrong in his time as manager. Sure he made a bad choice taking Walcott and not using him, and sticking with that unworking formation was bad, but other than that he has done an admirable job.

I hope McLaren does a good job, but I can`t help feel that he is just a stop gap manager that is in the job until someone the nation really "loves", ie Stuart Pearce, is ready for the role.

In my opinion the 5 - 1 vs Germany was more that the Germans turned in the worst performance you are ever likely to see from a team representing that country rather than Sven getting something miraculously right.

As i`ve put in other posts I am so glad that SGE has gone as he has been awful
I have reservations over the replacement selected by the FA
I think Beckham must know his days are numbered because there is no way on this earth he`d have jacked in the captaincy like that if he didnt feel he may get the push (again just my opinion)
